Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! We rescued Henry Kapono's mother and only learned latershe was pregnant. We had a Name the Baby contest, receiving 50 entries, One was "Henry Kapono." Our Hawaiian friend & horseshoer, had recently passed away from cancer, so we chose the Hawaiian name to honor him. We were also told that the name of the stallion was "Ike", for Ike Turner -and so we continued the musical theme with this unique name. And yes, Kapono means righteous in Hawaiian.
