It's hard to judge sword size in the earlier games, but I'm thinking it probably came in with Final Fantasy 6, the Atma sword. When you get higher level and have a lot of HP, that sword gets huge!
I think you pretty much hit gold even with the faults of the series, for example the running gag of cosplaying Zack: had you remembered to include it more often, it probably would've turned out to be repeatative and tiresome. And that's only for one example. Don't worry about being unfoundedly idolized by me, though, i'm going to put the credit on sheer luck for about 60-70% rather than on your talent.

Heh, actually I screwed up that scene, when the stoplight turns back from red to green, I just reversed the first clip, meaning that it turned yellow in the middle, which it shouldn't logically do.

I watched the episode once through first to get some idea of what I was going to say, then recorded the commentary track while watching it through a second time. If you listen close, you can hear an echo effect in the episode's audio underneath my voice because I forgot to switch the audio to my headphones instead of my speakers, so my mic picked it up. (-: (Would that make this post commentary on commentary?)
i did noticed the echo effect, just wanted to know if you didn't figured out what you were going to say before start recording. Still, making a video well timed and coerent like this having watched the episode once is impressive!

It was just so horrible what with awkward silences, overlong run time, etc. But, as you said, you learn to avoid those potholes with experience. i acctually didnt watch berserk until i saw this series and it was really good then when u made gantz abridged i watched the series first and i wanna say thanx cause theyre both real good animes i wouldnt have known of otherwise. but both leave u wanting more at the end. i mean berserk starts in the future then the whole series is a flashback to show how he got there. and they never flash forward to finish it.
Word. Personally I think Gantz doesn't start getting REALLY good until right after the Buddha arc, which means that none of the best parts ever get animated.
True, although Berserk at least adapted the best part of its source manga, and did a pretty good job within their budget; the pacing was fine and they were very faithful plot- and character-wise with only one or two exceptions.
Yeah, it is good that you are making something from your busy schedule. Come to think of it, so far you have been the only abridger who has been active since school started. If these commentaries don't take too much time to create, i'll sure as heck keep watching.
Definitely do more of these, I enjoy hearing your thought process as you ran through the jokes. At the very least get up to episode 3 (for my money the best episode of the series, with the Caska Wonder Years, Gutts as Batman, and the Purple Rhino Knights episodes being just behind it).
I always liked your Berserk Opening. It had the unique quality of being really short, but still managing to disrupt the flow of an episode. In fact it is probably my favorite abridged opening and for all my fancy editing I can't produce anything quite as charming.
And as much as I didn't like your first episode, the bit between phil and the minister does give a glimpse of the sort of humor that I love so much about your series.
It was cool, I liked the line "so I sold my soul and became a horrible demon just so I could have the strength to wear it." Best in the whole episode. It's a good series, please make more ^^.
I've always been of the opinion that, all else being equal, brevity is superior to lengthiness. Naturally, "all else" is seldom equal, but you get the idea.
I liked it, I find it interesting that you mention this serious made you more of a berserk fan. I'd love to see your view on episode 20 and your finale episode. Why well to point out the missing villain in episode 20 compared to the manga and well just to see which ending you liked the most.
i reall enjoy ur work and i think its a real talent that u can take really disturbing anime like berserk and gantz and actually make em funny and seeing this kinda helps me see how u do it so 2 thumbs up on the commentary

I really like your style of the comedy done for your abridged series. For you to come back and do a commentary on them is actually a good idea, sort of a good insight on what you've done and maybe give a little insight on how to do it for editing and such. Kind of like how, at least for me, some extras on DVD movies give insight for how they did "X" shot with "1" camera or using a "3" and "7" camera for shot "Q".

True, although Berserk at least adapted the best part of its source manga, and did a pretty good job within their budget; the pacing was fine and they were very faithful plot- and character-wise with only one or two exceptions.

Yeah, it is good that you are making something from your busy schedule. Come to think of it, so far you have been the only abridger who has been active since school started. If these commentaries don't take too much time to create, i'll sure as heck keep watching.

Definitely do more of these, I enjoy hearing your thought process as you ran through the jokes. At the very least get up to episode 3 (for my money the best episode of the series, with the Caska Wonder Years, Gutts as Batman, and the Purple Rhino Knights episodes being just behind it).

I always liked your Berserk Opening. It had the unique quality of being really short, but still managing to disrupt the flow of an episode. In fact it is probably my favorite abridged opening and for all my fancy editing I can't produce anything quite as charming.
And as much as I didn't like your first episode, the bit between phil and the minister does give a glimpse of the sort of humor that I love so much about your series.

It was cool, I liked the line "so I sold my soul and became a horrible demon just so I could have the strength to wear it." Best in the whole episode. It's a good series, please make more ^^.

I've always been of the opinion that, all else being equal, brevity is superior to lengthiness. Naturally, "all else" is seldom equal, but you get the idea.

I liked it, I find it interesting that you mention this serious made you more of a berserk fan. I'd love to see your view on episode 20 and your finale episode. Why well to point out the missing villain in episode 20 compared to the manga and well just to see which ending you liked the most.

its the title with a movie maker subtitle saying "abridged" or something and i pull a go nagai chibi chara world thing and go "da dadada da!" for like 3 seconds xD

I really like your style of the comedy done for your abridged series. For you to come back and do a commentary on them is actually a good idea, sort of a good insight on what you've done and maybe give a little insight on how to do it for editing and such. Kind of like how, at least for me, some extras on DVD movies give insight for how they did "X" shot with "1" camera or using a "3" and "7" camera for shot "Q".

Old things are great. They tell us where we came from and why we are who we are today.
I love it when a creator goes and looks back on his early works. I would love for you to do commentary on some of the key episodes in Berserk TAS, that would be sooo much fun. How if only you could make DVDs of your stuff lol.
