Loved it! Especially the routine :) I love and repect all styles of dance, may it be ballroom style, latin or cuban style, they were awesome and perfect.
Good dance its just they must be focused on there moved and the dance rythm because if they arnt in differnt sections the dance moves wont match the music
That is the most ridiculous comment I have ever heard. So hunterstoner, please educate me, what style of dance has "contact with the rhythm of the music"?
International DanceSport is a fusion of rhythmic dancing and athleticism. competitors are judged based on rhythm, athleticism, and performance, among other qualities.
@HunterstonB I respect your comment but I disagree. In fact, they are dancing more Cuban folksy. Notice how both lift their feet while doing the cha cha syncopation. Usually, in international ballroom you keep your legs straight and feet almost grounded as much as possible. Their rhythmic sequences are very clean and strong.
If you asked the dancers to dance to something slightly challenging - such as Santana's 'Corazon Espinado' thier total lack of musical awareness would be even more apparent.
What they are doing is athletic's - it has nothing to do with the music.
@HunterstonB I think we are also disagreeing in the definition of athleticism. International ballroom dancers perform very fast and sharp movements. I've seen over and over at night clubs the athleticism you write about when people dance salsa either Miami or New York style. Such salsa dancers really kill the beauty of the Latin rhythm by turning the dance into a frantic tangle of turns, lifts, pirouettes, and so forth. In contrast, you don't see that in international style.
About 95% of people can't hear or understand music.
You are distinquishing different dance styles based on technique. Salsa and International latin are both 'simple beat' dances where the dancer is not required to interpret the music.
In Argentine Tango and Swing the dancers movements have to be completely in line with the music.
well then please, sungirlshines, inform us as to what exactly it is that they're doing wrong, or better yet, post a video of yourself so we can see your superior skills.
wow very impressed

It's a known historical fact that Ballroom Jive and East Coast Swing were Fred Murray's and the ISDT's interpretations of Lindy Hop.
Type in Lindy Hop into Youtube and try to spot the difference between the above.
Ballroom Jive is not danced to Swing music and doesn't Swing. Look up 'Swing Music' on the Internet.

'Rhythm' is a sequence of repeating musical patterns that change and develop and which have accents and syncopations to provide musical interest.
The noise the dancers are moving to is nothing more than a repeating beat sequence, there is no musical development, no accents and is utterly boring.
Nearly all competion dance music is the same - systematically neutered to make it completely unchallenging for the dancers

They are off beat more then a few times but their technique is quite good.

What's wrong?
They are not dancing. . . . . .very good athletic performance to a beat but it has no contact with the rhythm of the music
If you can't see that - you must be an international dancer.
A total lack of rhythm is the most essential quality of a dancesport dancer

@HunterstonB So, where does all this expertise come from? Are you an instructor or competitor? Are you aware that the Jive is a swing dance?
