  • bla bla bla you talk much but your actions say more ! And i'm very disappointed !

Why didn't you join with AMD(ATI) to construct a COMMON parallel language ?

CUDA wont work since it's closed and _limited_ to nvidia only ( WTF )

OpenCL on the other hand is open

A common language that worked on any 3d card would be better, it's obvious !!

So why didn't you swallow your pitiful pride and work with ATI ??

  • @labobo

AMD(ATI) is more involved in gaming. nVidia is involved with everything.

  • @SgtJStupid Can't opencl do the same things cuda can and viseversa ?

My very limited knowledge say that they can.

Still the _very_ good question still stands why can't ati and nvidia work together ( they are hindering the development, etc, 2 ways, means twice as much work for the developers, if not more )

What i do know is that an all purpose api for both gaming and everything else is possible ( and should have been developed and released already! )

Basically: standards are there for a reason!

  • @labobo

if you know that your knowledge is very limited then you better read more before start blamming on others...

CUDA was created back in 2007, and ATI was also on their own with their FireStream (its just not that popular).. It is only in 2009 that OpenCL standard has been released and nVidia was the ONE OF THE MAJOR COLLABORATOR.. ATI and NVIDIA do work together in OpenCL (along with Apple, IBM and Intel)

OpenCL is not very matured yet, so many scientist still prefer to use CUDA
