My gran used to live on Lilac court! Glad she moved around about when this report was made! Lilac court was pulled down in 2001/02 I think. Pendleton aint as bad as it once was though! :) Thanks for posting this!
Probably more dangerous than the Bronx in them days...I believe security has massively improved on them blocks since then, and all seems fairly peaceful in Pendleton these days.
The Block with the guy with steel door was called Lilac Court ,It was emptied in 1990 but left to rot for several years until being pulled down.The block with the guard the twin of where I live,Security is 100% better now,ten years on but It should have been there when all 25 (now 18) blocks were built in the 60's
all them flats are ugly, can't blame the people for living there with no other option
