  • Thanks for your feedback. I don't think anyone was born with less talents. The points are how much attention we pay to the seemingly unimportant aspects that are truly important which in turn will open a door for your enjoyment of art. Last week I had a new student who came in saying he was old and not smart. After explaining some the many aspects, he made progress which he was impressed. You may refer to art-virtue Website > Tutorial or Principles for more related info.

  • None of my brushes behave like the ones you show in the video, except for a japanese "brush-pen" made of plastic hairs (with which I obtain nowadays my best calligraphic results). What on earth I am doing wrong? Believe me, although your videos are wonderful, not having a "true" guidance for this art is really a handicap... Greetings!

  • @LabaykaYaMahdi I will email you direct contact of ForbiddenCity2008.

  • Hi, I have completed watching the 2 parts of this video. Someone used these words "very very helpful and educational" and I totally agree with him/her. Those items you listed and priced (albeit some years old) are so affordable. A Wal-Mart wool felt costs only $1 whereas the black one from $3-10 ! Very affordable ... Best

  • @cristobelle56 Thank you. I would rather pay a few dollars more if they help me make progress and save my time. :)

  • MY INKSTICK SNAPPED IN HALF. what do i do? im now using indian ink bottles but they're more messy, but ink stones never work[my ink dies up in seconds],what do i do!?!???!!??!?

  • Chines inksticks seem to crack or snap outside China (maybe because it's more humid in Asia and a lot of drier in US or Canada). You may glue it back and wrap with plastic tape to prevent.

If you practice Chinese calligraphy or painting, Chinese ink works best. The quality of ink stick and inkstones may vary a lot. I am sending you more info in a message.

  • hi can you give me the chinese translation for all the brushes listed in the video? thanks.

  • Except for that "my teacher's favorite" and Li Gang's brush (as listed in Video Responses), you can

find the same brushes from "Specialty Brushes" from the website of Oriental Art Supply.

  • I am still not using an inkstone, as you might have seen. Should i change to using it? Thank you for sharing, my friend!
