  • Does the the god of guitar use 3 fingers or 4?

  • @jigmax14 I think either thumb and first two, or thumb and first three depending on the rhythm/song etc.

  • Very Nice ! congrats ! what gear do you use plz?

  • @misternogreco This is a Mark Knopfler Signature Strat and a Marshall 30W amp I think.

  • @misternogreco 15 watt amp, sorry, I have a Peavey valve amp now.

  • Nice job. I admire your skill.

  • First tne seconds sound like the Jackass theme ha!

  • I find the percussion technique (hitting the string with finger 1 and 2(?)) not easy. I can't get it right even though im quite sure that isn't the hardest thing about knopfler's technique

  • mate i think you are the closest ive heard to the great man, well done!

  • You have got it spot on man, hundreds of guitarist think they have it but they're not really close............very few can get the knopfler feel AND the technique, your practice has paid off big time my friend, well done.

  • hi there dan anychance u can do a video of just that trademark knopler rhytm stuff like your doing for sultans of swing rhythm parts i just have been trying to suss it for years! thanks.

  • Great demo. I love that tone.

Which guitar and amp are you using?

    Are you using any effects.

    The finger style is amazing.

    Please post more videos.

    Mark Knopfler is King!

  • I can't understand how can he play that amazing fast solos just with three fingers. It's a mistery.

  • @redstratocaster1942

Three fingers are much faster than one (1) pick

  • the first part sounded like the jackass theme, pretty koool!

  • Hi Dany, Nice vid. One question: is it a particular MK song starting from 5:04?

Thanks. And also waiting for more lessons. Cheers!

  • @tsts83 It's called 'The Bug' there's some versions of it here on youtube, nice song, check out the cover by "gono555"

  • @dany4kin Thanks man!

  • @dany4kin where did you get the tab from ? ;)

  • thank you man! you've done a great thing for many lovers of M. Knofler around the world just like me and the others below here...

    you did it!

  • you put a mile on my face. where do you live? i just might to come fore a cup fo coffee with my les paul and my marshall mg15fx

  • Hi, nice video! I was wondering what gear you're using: what effects and amp? That's an MK fender, right? Sound's really good.

  • @flyRF Its just a Marshall MG15 amp, just a small practice amp really. And like you say, an MK Strat. No effects, just a bit (too much, probably!) of reverb...

  • super...the best

  • Omg this is the first good, amazing video with Mark Knopflers technique !

    Thank you !

  • @AlexisGuietteRecords

You probably havn't searched enough on YT... Ever heard talking about MKGS or Ingo Raven ? ^_^

  • @k00gan Even I hadn't seen Ingo Ravens videos...! Thanks for the heads up!

  • This is so good. I spent the last 30 minutes playing along with this. Is it possible at all to have some of the strumming patterns starting around 5:04 shown slowly? Just the basic ideas. Even slowing down is kind of fast here!

Thanks a lot for doing this!

  • @mediocreplayer Yes I'll try and do that for you tomorrow if I can! It was a bit fast, I get a bit carried away sometimes...

  • @dany4kin yesss if you can explain how you do that slowly it would be the best, ohh and if you could show both hands if its not toomuch to ask, thanks youre great.

  • @dany4kin Thanks! I'll wait for it :) Also, how much does the 2-finger anchor affect things, you think, in terms of playability and tone? Cause I am used to having my hand floating on resting on the bridge.

  • @mediocreplayer It's difficult to say. I dont think it would affect the tone, except for that if you're playing closer to the bridge or closer to the neck (the location of your right hand relative to the pickups) that would affect the sound I guess. The two finger anchor thing is just something that developed for me, I never did it deliberately and never used to find myself using it, until I started to use my thumb more. I still find my right hand fairly fluid, it's not as rigid as Mark's.

  • Awsome! Love the Jackass intro! Haha

  • Thank you very much!

  • Nice one!

  • Man this is the best tutorial EVER !

    You are THE master!!

    Thanks !!!

  • @karimbero Glad to be of service....

  • Great!

  • Awesome! You make it look so easy! I have been looking through alot of your guitar videos, loving them, I simply stunned by your talent.

  • @GatwickSpotting I think the same when I look at yours mate, but thanks very much.
