@BigBlackBro1 yes that's what it is. the praying mantis had absolutely no opening in the aperture of its eyes leaving it effectively blind and then suddenly it got magic pupils out of nowhere. yeah really logical, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the light was in the eyes of the mantis thereby rendering its pupils temporarily invisible to the camera, nor the fact that the camera wasn't in focus for part of the filming
