I can't wait to go to Algiers; I've read a lot about the city and would love to watch the white skyline, the Kasbah, Bab El Oued, Hydra and the likes. How safe is it for independent travellers nowadays? I guess I am affected by both propaganda and the terrible suffering the city endured more than a decade ago.

I'm an Algerian born and raised in Britain but whenever I go to Algiers I feel at home more than I do in London. Although I was born in London, Algeria is my land and will always be my home.

@minaaArab04 Ich wollte dir sagen,dass die Schweiz die Beste ist,obwohl wenn meine Eltern Algerier sind.Ich wünsche,dass Algerien für die Schweizer und Deutsche ein touristische Potential wird.Früher lebten viele Schweizer in Algier vor 1962 und mussten das Land in den 90ern verlassen. Ich kenne ein paar Schweizer die in Algier,Oran und Mostagenem lebten.Die 70ern waren gute Zeiten.Ich wünsche,dass die Europäier ohne Visum Algerien besuchen werden.Ich hoffe mal die Schweizer in Algier zu treffen

@minaaArab04 wieso? Willst du nicht, dass Algerien wieder Europäische Bewohner hat wie früher?

In den 70ern war Algerien cool. Diese Ausländer brachten auch Geld an Algerien, weil die Industrien hatten oder gelehrte Milchtechnologen. Da gab es auch mehr Kontakt zwischen den beiden Ländern und auch die Flugverbindungen waren besser.

@FL74USA - thanks, quite often, we don't realise what other countries have to offer, I think we can blame the media. THe media are not in the business to promote other countries because it may decrease tourism in their own country.

Children of the sun, melinated individuals are original man, and span from east to west, all over the globe... study Ethiopia, and not the modern day country* Olmecs, Moors, Original Buddha Naga, Druids, Mayan... etc. Egypt was original Af Ra Kan. Arab settlement was a modern day invasion.
