  • Lockpicking itself is only ridiculous when you NEED lockpicks to get through a door that is required to complete a quest.

To add insult to injury, it was the goldenglow estate quest, BEFORE you get the Skull key.

  • sweet dude thanks for the help i must have tried like ten times just guessing but once i watched the video i only busted like 3 lock picks, sweet!!

  • I found that when you start turning the lock and you hear a squeak, you got it right.

Probably not true, but it happens to me

  • i just use some c4 he he he

  • to me lock pick is easy,I think anyone that has played Fallout 3 you can do this shit

  • Looks much more fun and challenging than lockpicking in oblivion.

  • It's pretty much the same system used in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, I guess didn't have a problem, since I'm so used to those games.

  • lol i unlocked the cabinet in the companions guild and there r 3 most valuable cabinets 1: has a elven bow for beginners if they want it 2:has a dwarven sword for 1handers and begginners and 3: has a staff i forgot what its called

  • Thank you thank you thank you

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I was baffled with the new lock-picking system in Skyrim. I sucked at it in Oblivion too, and was only saved by the Skeleton Key - lol. Cheers and good gaming to you! :-)

  • YAY opened up my first chest bitches

  • Thank you I could figure this out at all. I'm new to gaming and I'm not familiar with any of this type of thing. This was very helpful.

  • I love how this moron is opening a novice lock and is doing a guide on it.

  • I open novice locks in like 1 attempt they are REALLY easy, I don't know how you can have problems with them.

  • @Evilcrushing

It's because you're opening NOVICE locks, dumbshit.

  • @justforthelulzzz Apprentice and adept locks are easy too, expert is not that hard, and master is too hard :P That's my opinion.

  • I damn near broke 30 lock picks just trying to figure out how to lock pick till i gave up

  • Funny that I find lockpicking better in Skyrim than in Oblivion. Also the master level lockpicks are pretty easy in my opinion. (playing on PC)

  • I wasted about 40 picks trying to get into a Master lock. Nearly impossible using a keyboard.

  • I have a difrent way that works better for ME

I'm not sayin it's better than this or any other way I'm just sayin it works for me and if u guys wanna see it comment on my Channel

  • Thank you. lock picking in this game is a pain in the ass, I miss oblivion lock picking :(

  • I miss lockpicking from Oblivion

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Please for the love of god tell me there's a skeleton key. Don't tell me HOW to get it, just tell me whether or not there is indeed one.

  • i am really confused with this... hahahahaha noob

  • Lockpicking looks like a challenge in itself, i can see myself breaking so many lockpicks.

  • Guys, just use the skeleton key lol

  • Tyvm for the Video

  • Just like in fallout 3 :D

  • @bocajbee but harder

  • your video doesnt work halfway...

  • bro be fair, put in video name that is for console... i know it will have less view but it now would no one said to you FUCK YOU for wasting ma time

  • Thanks man! This really helped me steal the Elven Hammer and Dwarven Sword in Kodlaks room and the Elven Bow in Aleas room. Now I have some good starting weapons.

  • 0:22

  • thanks

  • i dont understand find the sweet pick spot part.

  • @M40M40Y1NP31 - On the lock there is a certain area where the knife will spin. If you dont have the lock pick in the "sweet spot" area, you wont be able to turn the knife. On Oblivion, there were the visual bumpers you could see. So think of the knife turning as how many bumpers you have passed until you get the whole lock broken. I practiced on a master lock i found at level 3 and reloaded a ton of times until i broke it. I can break any lock in the game now. Practice makes almost perfect. :-)

  • thx for help n_n ! =*

  • Fuck me I just used almost 50 lockpicks and still it won't open.

  • I love the rest of the game but seriously how do you fuck up Lockpicking and I thought the fallout lockpicking was bad it is even worse here.

  • Hit the lock 2 times with fire magic, give a coin to a beggar, and buy a horse. It will melt the lock a little bit, increase your luck, and make you look like you dont need to be lock-picking (guard protection) ,and even expert will be as easy as novice.

  • stop pronouncing 's' it hurts my ears u american twat

  • @pattisonovsct dumbass

    *facepalm*

  • thx bro this was helpful :). Was able to finally pick that lock at the beginning lol.

  • ive knew this when ive played the game, ive did a expert lockpick at lvl 18-20, ive advanced 3 levels :D

  • I can't turn it slow cause I have computer 3:

Btw: lockpicking is way harder on computer!

  • so it's not much different from fallout 3's lockpick system >_>

  • This is just a modified or unmodified version of Fallout 3/New Vegas lock system. If you played those, these shouldn't be a problem.

  • i hate Skyrim's lockpicking system. I liked Oblivion's so much better then this. In Oblivion I could break through an entire dungeon with only 1 lockpick in Skyrim I have to have a collection of 80 or more lockpicks to get through 1 room! Don't get me wrong I love Skyrim, but lockpicking Is Not enjoyable at all.

  • @MaraJade13243 you hate it because suddenly its a challenge, oblivion is easy as fuck and for little kids. noob.

  • @nerual11 whatever you prepubscent asswipe maybe you should go out and get a job instead of sitting on youtube and skyrim all fucking day. some of us have lives and jobs and video games are a hobby, noob

  • theres a stone that you can activate that lets you unlock expert locks without picking it

  • Actually i found that when i move the pick alll the way to the left i slowly (REALLY) move it to the right i hear a small click, and thats the position its in

  • @Skyrimquesting101 I have a second video up of that exact thing. A lot of people don't believe it works though. My guess is they spin the pick too quickly =/

  • @Skyrimquesting101 i just heard it, it works!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Skyrimquesting101 thanks

  • @TheNorbies trololo

  • @TheNorbies does that actually work???? or am i being seriously trolled?

  • @TheNorbies you're so full of shit... you are right? the games too new for me to be sure... i remember reading that in a lockpick book in oblivion though... hmmm, never hurts to try...

  • @TheNorbies This is false.

  • @NimsGaming

no, you can use a drill too

  • @NimsGaming Theres a book on lockpicking and according to the author if the lock is new and springy the fire makes the springs all equal

  • @NimsGaming LOL! but pretty creative. thanks for the video!

  • @TheNorbies You can also bash the lock with a two-handed weapon and break it.

  • @TheNorbies Trololol get a bazooka and blow that lock away, right?

Jeez u have an imagination though :D

  • @TheNorbies haha ok thanks :)

  • @TheNorbies you got called out LITTLE BITCH!

  • Just like Fallout 3! :D

  • Personally, I find oblivion's lock picking MUCH easier.

  • @kingneo115 At least in Skyrim you can pick ANY lock, instead of having to wait until you are that skill level it is set to,

  • this is harder than lock picking in real life...

  • The master chests are a pain in the ass to lockpick

  • @batmanexit13 I've gotten one 2x its extremely hard on PC

  • @batmanexit13 try expert locks

  • @g96818 master is a higher level than expert..

  • Comment removed

  • @icavein idk, expert seemed harder than master.

  • @g96818 you probably just got lucky they are impossible (almost)

  • @icavein you probably don't know how to pick locks. I've cracked at least a dozon expert locks and more master locks. you just need to get a technique down and not mash the rotate keys.

  • @g96818 good for you!

  • @batmanexit13 They are a pain in the ass but they do level you up a lot

  • in oblivion 4 they had something called the skeleton key do you think they have something like this in skyrim

  • @tape929 if you use the perks from when you level up to progress up the lockpicking tree, you can see near the top that a perk you can unlock makes it so you dont break your lockpicks.

  • ty

  • I'm using mouse and keyboard, and A and D rotates the lock. Is there a way to slowly rotate the lock, since A and D rotate it too fast which causes me to break picks more often.

  • @ElegyForTheMasses i'm having the same problem... Don't think there's a way to rotate it slower. If there is, I would like to know.

  • Where can I find/buy more lockpicks??

  • @stackable20 Just go to bandits and kill them, they often drop them :)

  • Cool, seems like Fallout 3/NV lockpicking. I hated lockpicking in Oblivion, but liked it in both FO 3 and NV.

  • Thanks

  • OK ive found out a little thing that might help : when u move the right stick (the one that twist the key so that it opens the lock) move it very very smoothly if it doesnt shake it wont break :D

  • Thanks man you help me out

  • the harder lock picking is ridiculous as soon as u turn it it brakes! either its a bug or u just got to get really lucky

  • @Gamezonemachinima

lol yah im trying to open a master locked chest and the lockpick is breaking like immediately

I guess u just have to go the hard way and lvl that lockpick tree up :(

  • @Enigmaprince I'm having the same problem, I've went through over 100 lockpicks at the master chest in Dustmans Cairn, constatly reloading it and trying again it's impossible =(

And wtf are those lockpicks made of, Graphite? There too flimsy!

  • @Threl

I know heh they break easily. But I think every time when u are at that minigame using that lockpick it has a certain amount of "health" every second it "shakes" without twisting around it loses life thats what I think. so if u have got it shaken alot when u go to next spot suddenly it breaks easily therefor my tip is tip right stick abit if it shake move on to next spot and so on.. hope it helps

  • Thanks dude!!

  • Yeah reminds me also of FO3 - I'm having a feeling that this will be easier on the pc version of Skyrim.

Oh their is a Assasin skill called Unbreakable (needs Lockpicking 100 and Locksmith) the results are lockpick never breaks

  • Comment removed

  • Shits still hard...lol

  • So it's basically like fallout 3 but less fluid. =D

  • Thanks for this, the lockpicking seems pretty cool. :D
