Cantrell's contributions are essential, but Staley wrote wrote many of the band's most unforgettable classics.

When I first heard that AIC were going to get a different singer I had my doubts. Layne was so charismatic and a huge part of the band. The only band that I can compare them too would be Ac/Dc when Bon Scott died. Once they got Brian Johnson in the band they changed and it added a totally new element to an already great band. William Duvall is a worthy addition to an amazing band. Black Gives Way to Blue stands up with all of AIC's work in my opinion.

I personally think that DuVall has been an outstanding addition to AIC. There is absolutely no need in taking on the burden of comparing DuVall with Layne...we will never get to hear Layne again in this lifetime. I'm thankful for William DuVall.

Great job on the video!!! Alice In Chains is THE BEST band of all time!! I have been a huge fan since the day Man In The Box debut on Headbangers Ball! To everyone that wants to dog DuVall -you need to get over yourself- I of all people respect and love Layne and he is greatly missed but William is a great singer and performer and fits the Alice In Chains style perfectly! Hats off to him for coming into a hard position and holding his own!!
