Can I ask a few questions did Peter Sellers ever meet Audrey Hepburn, Barbara Eden, and Elizabeth Montgomery? And what if Peter married Jayne Mansfield instead of Britt in 1964?
At 1:59, those two shots cut together so well and smooth. He falls on the bed-cut-Peter rolls over on the bed. I just thought it was a great cut on action.
No comidian could pull off the things Sellers did; he was so natural at it that not only it was very funny but also very believeable. Like Brando, Sellers was borne with natural talent. They do not make them like they use to. Brando, Sellers, New man, Dean, Clift and so on. They are the true actors that help make a difference in your life and mine by helping us forget this god forsaken stinking world for 2 hours of entertainment. Thank you for posting.
The music is the Main Title Theme from the film, CASINO ROYALE (1967)--starring PS and David Niven. Music composed by BURT BACHARACH and performed by HERB ALPERT and The Tijuana Brass. The CD "WAS" available--I think it's now OOP--but, I just saw it on AMAZON from other sellers. It is one of the best film scores ever--VERY enjoyable!
It pains me that I didn't--great looks, great make-up, and close-ups--would have been GREAT...but, simply because it isn't available on DVD yet (a digital source that could work with my PC editing program)--AND I unfortunately sold my VHS back when "they" said (11 years ago) that all VHS films will be on DVD...and, like an idiot, believed it! To make matters worse, "THE OPTIMISTS" (1973) is being released in June!
It looks like the third clip from the end is not a film clip per se, but an outtake (from "Strikes Again" my all-time favorite movie). It shows Clouseau in the gay club looking through a painted glass.
You're close (with the gay theme), but the clip in question IS IN FACT from "Return of the Pink Panther," just before Clouseau is 'goosed' by the tailor in the Palace Hotel, and after he's just told the bellboy he might become "...a bell-man..." if he keeps up the good work.
Okay. I had a version that was taped off of TV 25 years ago, and that scene with the tailor had been "goosed" out. It was only when I got the DVD a year or so ago that I saw that scene for the first time, so I know now what you are talking about.

Believe me, I feel that "HOFFMAN" offers one of Peter's greatest (and underappreciated) performances. However, scanning the film in my head (easy to do after seeing it 25+ times), there were really no exceptional closeups of him doing anything "animated" enough to fit the music score. Sorry, but thanks for pointing out one of his best--next to "BEING THERE" and maybe even "THE OPTIMISTS."
Assuming you don't mean 2 clips from "THE PINK PANTHER STRIKES AGAIN" (in the hunchback disguise), the film in question is "CASINO ROYALE," during the scene in which Ursula Andress is photographing him in her bedroom as he dons several disguises (and personalities).
I don't even have speakers and I'm laughing my butt off...he was the classic combination of genius and madman. An uber-talented asshole. And he was gorgeous too.
Well done, Greg, and the kind of video that only makes you want to see more from the films these were taken from. I never was so curious to see "Undercovers Hero" until I saw the use gotten out of it here.
Many thanks! You've hit the mark as to WHY I made this (music) video in the first place! What we need to do is make others search out and discover the overwhelming talent of the man. Maybe they'll second-guess the (so-called) stars of today.
I'm afraid this will be removed pretty soon. My Sellers videos were also removed, three in total. I hope they don't, though. This is still really wonderful! I've seen it so many times but still enjoy it as much as the first time.
The first time I ever fell out of my seat laughing in a movie theater was in the 1960's when I saw "The Wrong Arm of the Law". But my favorite Peter Sellers film of all time is "Being There", which I think was his last. Thanks for your excellent work.
Exquisite synchronization, a blending of music edited to match the clips perfectly with original sound effects from the films themselves. How long did it take you to do this? I think Mr. Sellers would have been impressed, it's quite a tribute. The man was definitely one of the 5 or 6 true geniuses in film and I mean the entire history of film. Thank you for posting this.
About three weeks went into the project--including fine-tuning. This tribute is now part of an 86-min. documentary, which I've made for family, and friends--copyrights prevent it from going any further. However, I'm certainly glad to know that there are other fans of Mr. Sellers, like yourself, who will uphold his memory for the future--For that, I thank you for your attention and kind words.
I search for new videos on my favorite actor on a daily base. I recently made a montage myself, inspired by yours. Mine features bits from the Panthers. I would like it very much to hear your opinion on it.
Your posting of "The Pink Panther films: Montage" is absolutely perfect! It's refreshing when people put some time and effort into a visual experience like yours! Thanks for that!
Thank you very much for saying that! About the documentary you made, does it feature interviews with people who knew Peter or is it something else? I'm very interested in it.
It's called "A Symphony of Sellers," and is a film-career "travelogue," featuring highlights from his films (that are on DVD), and "borrowed" interviews with Shirley MacLaine, Harry Secombe, etc. that I interspersed. Even PETER--from his 1980 Today Show interview that I paid NBC a fortune for!! Have I got stories...
What film is he wearing that black & white striped shirt in? Great job, by the way.
