Saw her perform the entire Blood on the Tracks album with her band one night in a New Orleans club. Unbelievable voice and soul. Don't miss any chance you have to see her.
Did Susan write this song? Is this a song about her brother Barry who died somewhere , somehow ( unknown) in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He was immensely talented like all the Cowsills but I think a heavy drinker. This could fit him. It is very sad about Barry.. only 51 years old and a mega talent.
I had a crush on Susan since I first saw her on TV singing Hair.... in 1969. I met her in Newport recently and we chatted briefly. I told her that I always thought of her as that cute little girl on TV. The Cowsills are the best.
Somehow, some way, I've got to see this Susan Cowsill. Tough with a full time job, though! But, it's got to happen...she's my dream girl! Whether she's an 8 year old flower child or an approaching 50 rocker (Sorry, Sue, I'm in that boat, too), she's the real deal. An artist that caresses the soul. This vid blows me away! She's so comfortable on stage, despite the wind, which appears ready to blow her away!! justbelieveit
Susan Cowsill blew me away, too, along with all of my companions. None of us had seen her before, though I'd read about her. Fortunately, I'll be able to see her in Boston later this year, a free concert at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River. I'm looking forward to that!
I wish I had video of more songs, but YouTube actually has quite a few. This day in April, Susan even did that Cowsills song about the Flower Girl.
