It's not going to happen - not yet anyway. I doubt they'll drop News at Ten even if they really wanted to; as long as Michael Grade's in charge at ITV, News at Ten stays put!

I watched the 're-birth' of News at Ten tonight and I ain't impressed, they don't need two people to present the news, ITV should get rid of Julie Etchenham (can't spell, soz) and use the old studio they've got in this clip. And the opening music was poor, go back to the old days! :P
yeah i was pleased to hear it was coming back but i dont watch it..it aint the same. i used to like sitting in bed with the lights off to watch the news..then after id get the remote control and just turn the tv off and go to sleep
I quite liked the studio design especially how they mixed red and blue together (or burgandy / maroon, however you wish to call it). Didn't give it a cold look :)
The Commonwealth Games in 2002 took place at the end of July and into August. The Drowning in the lake can be read about on the BBC's website dated July, so it must be July.

News At Ten had this style of opening from 1967 to 1992.

I agree with you. I liked that studio design too, unlike that studio with that cold blue look introduced in 1996.
