I remember playing the other games before and loved when things would suddenly appear somewhere in the background (scaring the heebee jeebies out of me) and i just loved that horror feel to it. But on this, it's like the camera switches to a cinematic angle everytime something happens. I mean, it's still scary, but the old ones were terrifying. On FF2, i didn't want to explore past the first room

Fuck no, you'll never get me playing this.. it has that original resi evil creepy vibe (minus the cheesy american accents and the stupid outfits) that is missing in alot of horror games over the last few years where nothing is really happening but it scares the shit out of you knowing something will, instead of just chucking zombies at you left right and center from the get go, but with that said it's probably 'cause it has that element why i won't play it, far too much of a wuss XD

@caemawred The human mind is the best at scaring itself. Just give it room to think, suppose, imagine, and you have the best horror games out there. It's not about depicting it, it's about anticipating it and letting your mind picture real horror. (Granted it helps to understand what the story is in order to enjoy the psychological aspect of the game)

Regardless, there are a few good scare moments in FF4, and to be fair I haven't explored every single little thing where being too curious results in a scare moment (Thinking that closet window in FF2, FYI)

@shungiku01 I think they made a poor move by doing that. I don't think everyone should be punished just because some people "dont get it". I would have loved for this game to be released here. This series is a savior for the survival horror genre. It's basically one of the main reasons why the survival horror genre hasn't gone completely 100% extinct. It's one of the only true survival horror games/series that is still left and staying true to the roots of the genre.
