It's not the same controller. The one in my recording worked New York approach and has since retired. The controller in your recording is a current controller at JFK. Loved your video, though. Reminds me of another controller once overheard at LGA advising a pilot in one of those very congested days: "You're number whatever for takeoff!".

Yep New York Area Can't Tell if its JFK or LGA Because Both Airport Can Vector's you to Merit But I'm not Sure if La Guardia Does the Merit3 Departure Thats Usually the route to go to Boston

i personnaly think its ok.. and EHAM/schiphol airport amsterdam they do it alot when its not busy.. even when its busy.. the make short jokes.. the most time fit in the line of the real atc..

i think this should be approved.. its nothing wrong with. its ok if he just keeps an eye on traffic or when its not busy

There was a pilot for Air Canada who flew from San Francisco to Toronto then on to Montreal who on every Christmas Eve that he had to fly, he would use his harmonica and play a brief X-Mas song to air traffic controlers before he mentioned his id. I used to hear that pilot every X-mas eve from 1991 till about a few years ago. My parents and friends thought I was looney when I mentioned it but they heard it live on air in 1995. Too bad I didn't even get a recording of it!

Nice ATC conversation, the situation is that under that stress they should get little relaxation, but I dont know if FAA allows those moments. I am human too,,,I would sure do the same. But what about Safety? I think ATC Controler Job is one that really takes nerves. The best to all those ATC people that take care of Business..
