@HELLZONE7745 That's funny cause known a couple Smith & Wessons and have dropped it quite a few times and I never broke. Its my EDC knife and it's completely fine with me
I threw mine about the speed of dropping one and it snapped in half against a tree. I'm sorry but i agree with that other guy, i'm going with cold steel next time.
give it a medium tap on the side with the hammer, bran new out of the box do a medium tap and it will snap at the hilt. i bought 2 of them i had them snap when i droped them on there side. watch my s&w vid showing them :( DONT BUY S&W
LOL. Send it back. Explain that their $25 knife wont cut through concrete block all day with a sledge hammer baton. I bought this knife a few months ago and am very impressed. The edge needed some work, but other than that, this is a truly outstanding knife.
This is not a reality based test.Who would do these things in reality with his knife....you should be crazy to do this. The smith & wesson is a really good knife at a very low price.I have one for about 8 years and i did chop wood and other survival jobs and it performed very well.I dont understand the meaning of these tests. Not even the most expensive knife in the world would resist in thesee terms.A knife is made to cut not to break metal bars.If a knife resists that is to strong steel.
simply material stress testing to figure out what the limits of a knife are. For example if you watch this test and compare it with the Glock field knife test you´ll figure out that the Glock takes higher stress impact without breaking, but the S&W should be better at chopping, while both follow the low price, high quality material concept- Now it depends on you to decide which one fits better for your purposed usage.
they suck, i have the recurved. The tang broke while batonning trought wood...the only thing holding it in place was the aluminium hole at the tip of the handle....lame....i glued it back with epoxy....surely it holds better know...lol....can't compare this with a trailmaster....HAIL COLD STEEL!

this video show exactly how the knife was abused.
when they hit in in the center, it worked. when they hit it on the tip, away from the cut, it broke. the tang couldn't handle the stress

These tests are almost equivalent if that knife would be run over by a tank!! Awesome tests man and knife!! I am certainly gonna buy that knife!!

I can see the knife actually hammering a good way through the steel if it still had a handle, seemed as if the pliers were the problem. Very nice.
