  • White star still beats red star!

  • As I've gotten older I love this song! I'm 53 now and some think that's almost near death's door. I exercise a lot and don't do stupid stuff and I am in better shape than most teenagers who are sitting around texting.

This song is true. Stay positive because life indeed gets better.

  • Been looking for this song for years. Thanks!

  • I love love love this song from the first time I heard it long ago.

Great message. Don't let anyone tell you that life is over as you get older. Yes, act your age, but jerks who try to make you feel old are just that....jerks. Life is what you make it.

  • Love it!

  • gosh, he still performs this song today, must be a favorite of his, it still rings true today

  • @murph1973 I'm glad you got the truth finally. There's no better artist IMHO.

  • As with babylon122, this song takes me back to my college years. It's a truly sweet song to have come from one of the "angry young men" of the 80's.

  • I was just sitting at my computer, and this song popped into my head. It's an amazing song, and I'm glad that it did. <3

  • i've had this LP since i was 18. This track has been worn down to the bone. thanks for posting this

  • The Real Macaw... What an awesome album, that's it, I'm buying it again!

  • I forgot what a great and underrated song and LP this was..

    Yeah!!!

  • my favorite GP song ever!!! Takes me back to college

  • I have the fondest memories of this whole album.

When I was much younger and still living on campus I had a boyfriend named Brad who played guitar and showed up at parties to play this song as well as others. He was great!

lol When my art gallery/apartment was burglarized: my turntable was stolen with this album on it...

  • Wonderful song, indeed!

  • first time I`ve seen this video. First heard and loved the song back in 83 in Oz. Must admit I didn`t picture the singer driving alone in a jeep with only a tropical bird for company. But what does he care? He`s on his way to HER house. Possibly....

  • thanxs mouldytone takes me back i think about 1982 could you confirm

  • Thanks for commenting on the clip. The song is off the 1983 album "The Real Macaw". I taped this clip off TV in 1984.
