@Jeet27 most of the one's that did, got caught later on by E at acid house parties (apparently)
i always thought skeletor was given a bad press. he was only evil cause his face was a skull (people shouldn't be judged for their lack of skin) and he was he-mans enemy. eternia was people living in poverty but a rich monarchy with hi-tech weaponry. hugely divided wealth. snake mountain was run under a liberal-paternalist model.
am currently playing oblivion on my 360 (having just killed a willo the wisp) was suddenly remembering the cartoon that i used to watch back in the 80's.fantastic :-) p.s the willo the wisps in oblivion are nothing like the cartoon ;-) tis great to reminisce :-)
Love it... Brilliant.. Does anyone else think Carwash sounds like 'Noel Coward'.. He does to me anyway.. What a super talented actor and raconteur Kenny Williams was, and Noel Coward too :0)X
Finally I found this show!! I saw this back in 1997 but I could not remember its name, only that there was a cat and a dog and a tv with a grumpy face. It took me over 10 years of searching to uncover the title of this cartoon
Yes! I just remembered the part with the tennis video game and the caterpillar saying "anyone for tennis?" If I had been tere I would have been like "count me in"!
@drlemoncobra and I know as I have the original transmission of this episode on Betamax (and it still proves that it's better than even the most modern VHS machines and tapes)
@AidanLunn Never saw those, I just remember someone I knew (when I was a kid) having two Betamax VCR's so he could copy other tapes. The quality was crap but I guess that what happens when you use RF leads ha. This was early 80's though.
I am guessing yours was probably one of the last generation of Betamax to be made?
@Requiem20101 We had two. A Sanyo (top loading, push buttons - tribute video to it on my account somewhere, still woprks fine) and a front-loading Sony (very badly worn video heads so poor picture on it)
@TheMarkc Yup. For Betamax machines, the Sony's, Toshiba's and NECs were all quite flimsy. The Sanyo's, apart from their idlers, were absolutely bomb-proof. That's why so many of them survive in working order today!
@AidanLunn Oh & I agree with you in that Betamax was more advanced at the time, however the quality was only really better with one hour tapes. They had to produce two hour tapes in order to compete with VHS, however that had a side effect of reducing the quality to more or less the same as standard VHS.
@Requiem20101 That depended on your machine. Our Sony BetaHiFi still had better picture quality on a three hour tape than a 3 hour tap on a VHS HiFi machine.
The last Betamax machines were usually the best quality, the earliest ones were usually more reliable but were only marginally better than VHS at the time.
@AidanLunn Whilst I am sure you are right I personally only ever had VHS as Betamax was no longer being produced in the late 80's. It wasn't till the mid 90's or so that stereo VHS became affordable (why there was such a premium on Nicam models I will never know!).
Just been going through your channel, lots of stuff stirring the memory I must say. I also completely forgot that Top Gear was on before Clarkson et al were presenting it! By the way, why don't you allow comments on your channel?
@Requiem20101 Before we go too far off topic (this is a video about Willo the Wisp, not VHS vs. Betamax), it's because they had to pay the licensing to the BBC. The BBC Research and Development department invented NICAM so they had to pay them for thr rights to use it. We had one of the first NICAM machines, I think it was either a JVC or a Panasonic with little audio level meters :) My dad says we got it in 1988.
I just don't want comments on my channel, no particular reason.

Presumably a pun on the term "Will-O'-The-Wisp", which is fair enough. Except... The writers *did* know that the O' part is actually pronounced "of", right?
I love this so much it hasn't lost it's charm over the years! I now have the complete collection on DVD and watch them with my 5 year old niece who loves them too
Love Willow The Wisp! Watched it as a kid and bought myself a vhs tape of a few episodes a couple of years ago at a boot sale. Kenneth had such a great voice, loved him in the Carry Ons also. Thanx for uploading :)
I like how Arthur was playing Pong on Evil Edna.

How ironic that Evil Edna is a television, yet television was the medium chose for showing Willo The Wisp? Is Willo The Wisp evil?

Evil Edna has the greatest villain design of all time.

@drlemoncobra Nope, 5:35 as the BBC Evening news before a major reshuffle in september 1984 used to be at 5:40 instead of 6:00
