All the very best to you sir.

  • VERY GOOD

  • what i have learned from you has kinda helped me so thankyou

  • dude ur awesome!!

check out my drawing videos and let me kno wat u think

  • it looks so easy but i know it isn't.

  • For its really hard to draw the nose, ears, and mouth.

  • wow the smile is braliant it rly helped me out with my drawing tough i still dont see the conection between know how to create and how to draw family and friends etc

  • Well, drawing those you know is very difficult, bec ause what you see conflicts withyour preconceptions of those individuals. Stick to copying drawings for starters, and learn the line techniques. Then, you will be able to draw with confidence.

  • im al ready doing that and i realy love it only i hate to turn down my friends when they ask if i want to draw them ^^

  • so incredibly envious of your talent.

if you have any tips for me as a beginner on what might help me with portraits.

    please message me.

    thanks.

  • what man can do with years of practice!!! :) Greetings!!!

  • Doesn't always take years. I remember drawing my first eye, it was better than most people draw eyes after a few years. It's very simply; draw what you see, DRAW WHAT YOU SEE, I keep saying that students on my site.

  • But first learn to see :)

for real drawing you need 20 years and 15-30 minutes, that is my opinion- 20 years of expirience and 15 minuters for portrait or whatever.

Few hours ago I arrived from Macedonia, I was on great art colonyfor 12 days!!!

    greetings

  • Wow!

I really enjoyed the when you showed how to draw the teeth , its so fast and simple , I also shade too much and make the teeth look very very ugly.l

  • i think you are a wonderful drawler. I want to do my best, so i practice all the time. your Vidio has made me feel more confident about my pictures. Thank you

  • thank you so much for posting this. i may not be the greatest artist, but this really improved the way i would look at shading and determining shapes in human characteristics. keep doing what you are doing! you are a great teacher and a great artist!

  • You are so kind. I do this because of people like you. Thank you.

  • no. thank you :)

  • i am havien a hard time drawing hair and i would like to get some tips on how to draw them, and how to blen

  • Some drawing book ask for let's say pencil 6b and 2b to have a particular surface for example drawing an animal's fur, with the two diffrent shades giving the appearance. How do you do that with you particular Staedler chiseled point pencil ?

  • You can get 6B or 2B leads for Staedtler. THey are interchangable. THat is the beauty of the lead holder. The chisel is made not by the pencil, but the sand paper pad.

  • What do you recommend for starters for practice: drawing from other drawings or from real life ?

  • Oh, from other artists' drawings, of course. You first need to get an idea of line technique which is acquird by copying other drawings. Then you can apply your experience to a live subject, or for starters, a photograph with good lighting, preferably from the upper right predominantly, so you have a good break in the shadows. Life is a bit difficult for the beginner, just psychologically, let alone the moving tendancies of live models. But that is later. Copy, copy, copy for a year or two.

  • It depnds on the line you are drawing. If you are drawing an eye, you can use the wrist. If you are drawing long lines as in a backgrounf, you will want to use the elbow. You will have to place the elbo to a position perpendicular to the lines you are drawing. I rarely draw a circle. When I do, I suppose I draw it in several phases starting with the side to the top and left. Sometimes you need to draw multiple curves in a mass, as with the curles of the hair. Set first line, then repeat.

  • Have you anyone ever been taught a good drawing like he does lesson in college and university now days?

  • Good point. Traditional methods of drawing such as this was once called are taught in very few schools here in America. A few teachers out there know this stuff, vut you mostly see it in private attiliers and in Europe. I was told my method was very reminiscent of that taught in the great art school in Florence, Italy. THis stuff used to be standard in art schools in the early 1900s. It dissappeard after modernism threw out all traditional stuff for the Picassos of the world.

  • oh my god!... you are the "god of the draw"!!!

  • know that i never take art class in my life im 14 years old and through your video im pretty got it and i'v manage to draw face so thank you really and think that your a great artist

  • You make it look it easy but you saying "Like that" and "Its easy" doesnt help anyone understand how to draw the facial features lol.

  • Watching and copying, that is the ticket. There are no short-cuts, if that is what you are looking for. Time and experience, my friend, time and experience.

  • you are an expert.i love the way you draw.how old are you when you started to draw?i started when im 10 but i cant perfect my drawings specially human faces.thanks

  • I started art classes with my grandfather's art school at age 7.

  • very informative thanks! =D

  • wow you are amazing.

I love how fast you draw and how well done it is.

This has helped me a lot Thank you.

  • i like his pictures but not his style. oversimplified and repetitive

  • I sort of agree, for at least when starting out drawing, I think it is better if you take your time more,

    But still it is good

  • Well, more time is not necessarily better. Taking your time sometimes means overworking, or the drawing losing its style and jazz.

  • Yes, but not excessive time. I hear of people spending weeks on a single drawing. Not a good idea if you want to learn. Your learning curve is very slow if you take that much time. If you spend an hour or two on a drawing, you can get alot of lessons and learning in. I once heard of a man who had spent three years on a single drawing! THis man will get very few drawings done in his lifetime!

  • I understand, I think I can get a bit like that sometimes. I guess when you're trying to learn faster it is like learning to sight read music so you can learn pieces later way quicker. I just like the idea of going back to areas and using layering to build up the shading.

  • This is by no means the only way to draw. It is just a good way to learn. It is how I learned. It is not so much thr speed that is important, but the technique.

  • wow your my new teacher and im getting better with your eye method.youve taught me more in ten minuits than my 45 years trying to draw.thanks for the tips..your a master

  • He's so good, and the cool thing is that he explains that it really isn't that hard to do, and that he follows the same procedure, and he makes it look so easy. I have gotten so much better, and just had to leave another thank you comment :]

  • Wow! Thank you so much. It helped me a lot. I have viewed a lot of "how to draw portraits" and portrait drawing techniques videos and I have finally come across the right one ;]

  • thank you for the lessons

    i love to draw too

but no one really taught me how to draw

    i kinda learned myself

but i dont know if i'm doing everything right

    especially the shadowing

i have a video of my drawings

    watch?v=V77CkS2s_EM

i want to know how i'm doing...

  • thanks u helped me now its easy for me to draw

  • can you tell me a very good art store in Scarborough?

  • Thank you, you explain everything very clear and simple. By the way, is it hard to get that kind of pencils?

  • THey an be found in any good art store or university art store. It is a common drafting lead holder.

  • Ok, thanks for the info.

this video has made me subscribe.

    AMAZING!

p.s. I would like to draw as good as you when i grow up.

  • he has years of experince so when he draws it look easy! He made it look so natural! every stroke came naturally to him now. I hope to do that one day! PRACTICE!

  • what kind of pencil is he using?

  • Thank you. I use a Staedtler Mars drafting lead holder with a 4B lead. It is 2 mil, same as a school lead size. But the sanding block I use to sharpen it makes it 150% wider.

  • that pencil is like 10 bucks. the leads is 10 bucks too

  • ur soo inspiring...great job...i learned soo much from ur videos!!!! :)

  • Thank you one and all! It is my privelege to be of help. I received very good training from my grandfather. I owe it to him. Seven years, every Saturday morning for two hours. That is it!

  • Wow it's like I'm in a trance when I watch this. It's so good.I do have trouble with the nose but I've learned to shade better.

  • very good lon thats all correct ur proportions are correct and u explain it very well i use this method myself
