Yeah, Windows 7 works with all my games (Killing Floor, CS:S, etc.) quite extraordinarily, except for Dragon Age: Origins, and Team Fortress 2.

The Frame Rate just plummets. I can't figure it out, and upon reinstalling TF2 it won't start up.

I just dislike how many complications I am encountering so early in my Windows 7 journey. But, like in all good journeys, we'll get there... Eventually. :|

I had this problem too! If you bought the orange box, start up Half Life 2 and then try TF2 again. For some strange reason, it fixes the problem.

I have the torrent version of Windows 7 ultimate too but I can easily find servers. What you may need to do is forward your steam ports to your router. There are tutorials for this all over the internet. It's actually quite easy.

Hi AciidExE, i had the same problem till now! But i found the solution. TF2 is based on Half Life 2. So if u have installed only Team Fortress 2, just install half life 2 too.

Sorry, but I can't help you with choosing a laptop graphics card because I don't even know myself on what to get. I do know that the maxiumum laptop ram depends on what your laptop can handle. Some laptops only handle 4gb, some can do 8gb. You should check your laptop to see if it tells you the maximum ram that it can handle, and about that website, I believe that the website is saying that TF2 doesn't officially support windows 7, but will still run on it anyways.

1) In console, type in "Viewmodel_fov 70"

2) Go to Options --> Multiplayer options --> advanced --> Find the FOV option

I've never played TF2 on windows XP but seeing as most XP vs 7 benchmarks show similar FPS, I would say both. You are most likely to get a 5fps increase with windows 7 but that's it.
