Forgive me if I am wrong but china , Korea, Japan have different cultures. Each country has a unique history, language, even what they eat is different. Yes they are asian but I dont feel that is enough to say that these countries are the same.

i v been to all three countries, living for years in japan and china. in japan, i didnt felt like living in a different country.

like brothers and cousins, these countries are more alike than different. korea longing for the han culture; japan stayed around tang dynasty; china, as most culture experts expressed, consider soong culture and life style being the ideal to go back to.

i know there is a huge hurdle to over come -- it's the smearing of china by sun yat sen et al.

I agree these countries are alike however communications between these countries are much harder then you think. There are differences in languages which makes communication hard and differences between ethnic groups. Realize when you make such a claim (that asians are alike) you will offend a lot of people. u r rite about he language. but i v been doing some learning and researching and find out that both korean and japanese are different dialects of asia, very similar to the more ancient types of cantonese, but with their own pinyin rather than the chinese pictorial characters. for nationalistic reasons, the two countries have done an extensive external makeup job to make them appear very differently. china also did. they much all be unified to they call communicate.

all the cultures are basically originated from confucianism, buddhism and taoism. korea, especially, the north have preserved such culture best. then the south, then the japanese, and finally the chinese. but today, china is the one most eager to go back to this traditional culture. i hope they learn it from korea and japan.
