Absolutely brilliant. Great sound, great vocal. How many artists can pull up a song that's nearly 30 years old and rev it up to make it sound so fresh?
This is a fantastic DVD, although I could only find it in the PAL format and had to buy a "Region Free" player to watch it on my home theatre system. Works on my Mac laptop, however.
He's good at updating the sound without losing the essence of the original. The synths sound just great and the beefed up guitars rule. Gary clearly digs NIN and so what? He's still vital and keeps getting better as far as I'm concerned.
This songs is the absolute dogs bollocks...... It sends shivers down my spine every time i hear it.... I was at the gig and loved every second of it.... In Novemeber i think i will get a place in the middle at front so i can see GOD in all his glory.... Fan since the beginning and fan till i die. think i,ll still be rocking to him when i,m 80.
saw the house of blues show in 2001. what a night! would like to see a replic'as, pleasure principle and telekon tour in 09 states side, not to late....
I really love what Numan did to intigrate his recent sound into the live sets of his early material. I head he may do some new shows for Pleasure Principle; it'd be nice to hear some of that.
been a fan since 77 roxy, what annoyed me about these tours the most was not the music,it was spot on !! but numan and guitarists "crawling up the mike stand shit, last album i bought was strange charm,(very underated)
mine, of course gary doesn't deliver an absolutely perfect show sometimes, but nobody really does - this is reality, not a fucking high school musical (i'm not saying you can find a perfect show there, just a metaphor, you know). he is more than fifty, still even not regarding his age he is an extraordinary live act. and what he does on telekon dvd is at least godlike, he's in an absolutely perfect shape here. i'm not fond of the stage deco though - too much of a cheap nostalgia.
Good but not a patch on WEMBLEY 81.Hes getiing on a bit now and it shows.Does'nt move as well on stage as he used to,does'nt sound as good as he used to.Sorry
Gary is my favorite artist. He has been since 1980. Since he doesn't tour the US very much and had a 20 year hiatus, I made sure I saw him in 2001 & 2007 when he came through. Both times I was up front right at the stage, so it was awesome! I really love this video and must get the DVD! What an amazing & creative person he is! Keep it up Gary!
Awesome, one of my fave Numan tracks of all time. Long live the Wraysbury born bloke - may his reign as a 'true' musician continue in this world of 'false' one hit/factory produced artists. How many of 'them' will still be around 25-30 yrs from now?
Only Gary could mix electronica with industrial as he does here!!! (Kenickie's tribute was pretty cool too) The lyrics are so from the heart that they will endure for ages to come... the melodies anre taunting, haunting, evocative.. look up the word "noumena", it fits Numan's music so perfectly.
I have been a numanoid since 79, i took my mate to see numan in brighton for the first time, he aint spoke to me since..just kidding..he thought it was a superb show and numan commands the stage with such arrogance..this is by far the best live clip you will ever see..apart from prayer for the unborn, if i am allowed to plug the clip that i filmed, nice work industrial82..
Thank you for putting this one up .. its simply beyond words. GN is .. incredible. Been with GN for last 30 years..that man is the the complete WOW factor, his music enlightens the soul...i can go on & on & on
Agreed! Much better than the original. Like the new intro and the backing. And all those frustrated ones moaning on equally miserable forums about 'hearing a DAT Machine' and 'playing over the original CD' must learn to move on.
@LetzRock1 went to Living Ornaments 79 and Living Ornaments 81 - seems so so so long ago now and this just brings it all back. The big sets & superb tracks.
fucking A, Gary. I have tickets for his gig in Manchester next week. And I've seen him in London. This guy is amazing.

Does Gary Numan know anything about production? He couldn't have done a worse
job on the vocals if he'd tried, but then he
was always tone deaf!

And the new background music sounds really cool, too ^_^

We are on an island mate.. That's what the UK is! Guess you must be an American.. maybe your IQ proves it!

You've got the low IQ with a stupid reply like that. Guess I have to spell things out for you then. AN ISLAND AWAY FROM THE REST OF US.
Get it? Or do I have to draw you a picture?
