Half Life 2 Shortcut>Properties>Target

at the end of it add (as he said) -+mat_forcehardwaresync 0

so that it'll look like

"C:\Program Files\Valve\Half-Life 2\hl2.exe" -+mat_forcehardwaresync 0

and it should get rid of that error
