IThe Zomnbies are awesome . Shes not there was a huge number one hit when I was in the 4th grade and one of my all time favorite 60''s songs - MY band does that and She's not there. I saw Rod Argent at teh Fillmore West in 1970 open for John Mayall - Saw the Zombies in 2006 in Charlotte - But people get real NO BAND can touch the BEATLES - no one even comes close !!!!
@hakeelon Considering that the Zombies recorded Odessey and Oracle at Abbey Road Studios "...where earlier in the year The Beatles had recorded Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pink Floyd recorded The Piper at the Gates of Dawn...," I think the Zombies were contemporary with the Beatles. Despite the Zombies' start in 1961, they didn't get big until 1968 after Odessey. The Beatles "invaded" America in 1964.
@jrh98033 : They wrote most of their music as did the Beatles. Unfortunately, before or shortly after Odessey and Oracle came out they had disbanded. The three best albums from the 60's would be Sgt Pepper, Pet Sounds and Odessey and the Oracle which was a masterpiece.

Colin is so FREAKING sexy, I can't stand it. Totally was born in the wrong time. Maybe they will make that time machine and I will go back in time and yeah, get to kiss those gorgeous lips. Gawd! I'm READY already!!! <3
"Whenever You're Ready" was a huge hit in the Providence, Rhode Island market during the Fall of 1965. It received constant airplay - along with "Get Off Of My Cloud" and DC5's "Over And Over".
This should of been a huge hit. It's one of those songs ya can't get out of your head. I have their greatest hits and I find myself playing this one alot!
I love the new vid of this song from 2009- They sound great. Colin whispers a bit more on the recording, and Chris Whites vocals are missing, but otherwise its like a trip back the swinging 60's.
I think it must be the recording engineer counting them in on 9 at the very start of track when the band is still figuring out how to play this thing. The Zombies were really ambitious and took risks with the pop format. Remember they were 20 at the time. This is great.
The Zombies were a first rate group by any standard. The timing is awesome. They didnt need session musicians. They hired the drummer right out of the military (he was a military drummer) so i'm sure he wasnt exactly a flower child.
this is one of those great blueprint classic brit-pop songs i played this for a 20 year old kid i worked with hes now a zombie fan love turning kids on to the classics
It's a Zombies original, not a cover. But it has a timeless, classic quality to it that makes it hard to believe that this song wasn't the big hit that it deserved to be back in the '60s.
After more than 40 years it still sounds so fresh and cool ! Great musical ideas and vocals, love the jazzy electric piano sound. Thanks for the HQ audio.
I agree ! IT'S PERFECT !!! I've been listening to it for more than twenty years and it's still the song that makes me feel better when I'm upset...so many good memories !

I can't believe that this song never cracked the Top 40...the lyrics certainly influenced Bono . Same theme as "One" or "With or Without You."

Seriously dated. This sounds like every second-rate psychedelic pop tune recorded from '65 to '69.

And btw: there is many many rock, blues, pop-rock, band's from 60's wich are great, but 99% of musicfans never heard about them.
