I respect Naomi Klein but she's been fooled by a nonsense-dogma. Carbon is not the problem, the reason to lesson dependence on fossil fuels is that they are toxic in other ways. The Earth is not getting warmer. Pollution on the other hand is a real issue. Cutting emissions will help human life, which is what she addressed. Carcinogens are harmful to boilogical life.
