It's 70 years after the war - Poles did not start the war, we were the victims just as Jews were (5 mln Poles died). We have not only actively fought the Nazi occupant but also organized help for Jews while the West was doing NOTHING!!! A lot of houses f. e. in Cracow are in Jewish hands, much more were seold by Jews. The Germans did take away the land, however AFTER the war was over and germany lost it's control the land did not go back to it's original owners, instead it was taken by others so even though it was stolen by Germans, It was then taken by the Polilsh Goverment and the like rather than being returned to the owner. One thing I don't understand is why Poland should pay any reparation to Jews - we hadn't started the war my dire Jewish friend. Besides you already got $100bln from the Germans - I understand you've spent it all? My family have lost quite a substantial property in Lithuania and there is no reparations for me - they tell me - oops - to bad - it was a WAR.

It's 70 years after the war - Poles did not start the war, we were the victims just as Jews were (5 mln Poles died). We have not only actively fought the Nazi occupant but also organized help for Jews while the West was doing NOTHING!!! My family have lost 21 Hectare of Forest in Lithuania because of the war Poland did not start.
Yet it's 70 years after the war and some people have their houses there so I don't even try to get it back.
If anything - I would claim it from Germans or from Soviets who started the war and not from the poor Lithuanians, So yes Jews who had businesses and houses in pre-war Poland have their rights - Let them claim reparations from Germans and Soviets who started the war.

What confiscation? Made by Germans? Everybody who have some evidence that he or his ancestor was a owner of property, can take it after trial before polish judges. A lot of houses f. e. in Cracow are in Jewish hands, much more were seold by Jews. Courts are very "gentle" when evaluate the evidence - there were cases that property received "an owner" that looks 30 years younger than owner decribed in mortgage.

What about xenobhobic view? I was in Israel (and f.e waiter in pub said that he makes bussiness with Poles in Vienna - without hate: there are such people), USA (DC and NYC), Egypt, New Zealand in almost all Europe (excluding Russia:), Nigeria, Singapore etc etc. I have seen other people and other countries.

Do you want to decribe Jewish society led by rabbis isolated from others? :) They received to much privilledges and no duties. Giving them autonomy - own courts etc, caused their big isolation. Most of German Jews spoke German, most of French Jews - French. In XIX century perhaps about 10% of Jews on Polish lands spoke Polish. Rest of them yiddish, and many of them also Russian - banished from Russia, they have settled in Polish lands under Russian occupation, and were good tool of russification

Polish Jews were privileged?? They were dirt poor. Fiddler on the Roof was based on facts!!!My acestors lived in Galicia. All spoke Polish as well as other lanugafes including Hungarian, Ruthenian, Russian, German, etc. They were victims of russification.

In Middle ages and after they had protection fo the King and princes, SEPARATE judicial system, possibility to run schools in their own language where they in catholic country taught talmud full of hate to Christianity.:) And of course lot of Jews were rich and many of them were poor.
