Hey... I am thinking of buying one and was wondering if the Gainward GTX-460 GS 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card might work or even fit into the case... couldn't find enough info online. If it doesn't, has anyone got an idea for a high end graphics card that would fit and work?
@G4M3RSH311 The maximum size of PCIe card that fits into J series is 273 mm (L) x 98 mm (H) x 38 mm (D). Please also have a look into the graphics card compatibility list (global.shuttle.com).
Hi there, have been wanting to get a new one for a while and this looked like the the one. Only problem is they say it has SPIDF out but on all images I cannot find it. Usually on back panel, but it mentions it being onboard, which frankly sux if it is.
Anyone have any confirmation on this issue, would be great to help decision.
@zevmun2000 SX58J3 has pins for digital audio (SPDIF) onboard which can be used with an external connector. Presently there is no such accessory available. We are working on it. You may temporarily DIY referring the pinout inside the manual.
Any estimate on to when Shuttle will be available in the US (or Canada ?)
Also, what's the biggest memory size can you put in it? The support page lists only 1GB & 2GB modules.
What about G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 1600 from NewEgg?
I want to have both video card and a TV card (Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250) but I don't see a list of a single slot video cards (not weak, but powerful ones).
@vazaraq 1) May is the month of SX58J3: it will be available worldwide then.
2, 3) SX58J3 supports 4x 4GB DDR3 modules. Keep an eye out on that list. It's going to be updated soon.
4) That's why we made the machine ready for dual-slot VGA cards. It's quite hard to find high performance single-slot cards indeed. The SX58J3 is brand-new so feedback from our tech guys on compatibility is not yet complete.
@Pulagatha The noise level depends on the components you choose e.g. a decent VGA card fan is very important because it's usually the noisiest part of it. Also, the applications you run and the time you use it under full load play an important role. Powerful components generate a lot of heat under load. As a consequence, this heat needs to be led out of the chassis so that the fans have to spin faster.
@basefree123 SX58J3 is an all new product. Chassis, mainboard, cooling system and power supply have been redesigned from scratch. The H7 features basically remain the same. Plus: the price of the new model has been lowered.
Been waiting for this machine for months. When is it available in the UK? The only very disappointing thing by look the of the video is that there are no USB 3 ports.
whats the difference between the SX58J3 and SX58H7? and why can't the SX58J3 be seen on the european shuttle website?

@hasepase SX58J3 is a discontinued product. Its successor is the SX58H7 Pro (we've switched back to Aluminum, added USB 3.0 and SATA 6 Gbit).

And is there at the back a 120 MM Fan exhaust for CPU cooler, or is it 80 MM?
snooglehead 1 year ago
@snooglehead The fan is 92mm

I'm maybe getting this with the i7-930, but, what about the temps of the processor?
And does a 5850 fit in here?
snooglehead 1 year ago
@snooglehead i7-930 works fine with this machine. Also ATI 5850 cards have been tested successfully.

Nice. How does this perform in terms of heat and reliability?
Also, is it possible to obtain this as just a pure barebones system (motherboard + case + PSU only) in the UK?
9VARZ 1 year ago
@9VARZ Adding on....
Will the PCIe interfaces be also able to accept other peripheral devices besides graphics cards? Eg. PCIe soundcards or RAID controllers.
9VARZ 1 year ago
@9VARZ The integrated heatpipe cooling system ensures reliable stability.
It transports the heat out of the PC directly. The fan is controlled and managed by the BIOS in terms of speed automatically.
SX58J3 will naturally be available as a barebones in the UK too.

they still cant bare to use slot loading drives even on something this small

@imos3DUK SX58J3 has no USB 3.0 ports to keep the costs down. There is 2x eSATA (supporting 3 Gbit/sec) instead.

@SCHgermany Wow, so this is Shuttle's new high-end gaming solution and you want to keep the cost down? Seriously...
