What people don't realize..at least to address the health care issue for everyone. Modern medicine is very costly, because it treats only the problem and ignores the root causes. How do you have socialized medicine in a country where millions smoke cigs on a daily basis, eat massive amounts of poorly raised meat and generally told the wrong information on health. My real point is that we are starting to tackle an issue that is WAY larger than we know, its changing us as we attempt to change it!
@Eldwinn it's just that's all I'm hearing from that group, you don't see them trying to make life better for themselves, they're calling for more government, more socialism and if I'm generalizing, then fine, but my point is you're seeing anyone calling for less government, for them holding Washington and the Obama administration accountable. You didn't see these people up in arms when the banks and Wall street were bailed out.
To Washington, I would say, get a brain. To Wall Street I'd say get a heart. When "Revolutions" get violent, the old political elite generally gets slaughtered. The rich are merely robbed and murdered. They seem to be trying to get themselves butchered. The ruling elites own and control the media that makes public perceptions of what it means to be an American and how we are viewed by the rest of the world. Count the number of medium and small wars since Vietnam. We were involved in almost all.
@vladdrac88 And it has been about resources, not just oil but food as well. OK In low tech world there is no technological way out. Now there is, but the rich are happy getting what there getting from what their capital is invested in. Lets get out that old "Military Draft" spirit only this time we do not "Draft Men" for "War", we "Draft Capital". To what end?. Why to become the richest nation in history, with the world glad to pay us for ending poverty on earth via really new technology. :)
Communist, socialist, leftist, rightist, upist, downist, sort-of-over-thereist they are all there at the OWS movement. @HouseofVespucci gold. if there is nothing backing our money then the PTB can manipulate our economy into what it is right now. i am sure there are other ways. but we did lose about 400 million dollars in gold in 1933 and traded it all for paper. see: "HJR 192". "federal reserve act", "creature from jeckel island", etc
@fallenempireoverdrve Yeah, because England couldn't afford another war. Switching to fiat currency ensured that no one could ever afford anything again, because everything in the world is financed by debt.
@fonkymaster Don't feel to bad. My brother in law lives with us and lectures me on the righteousness of Capitalism, personal responsibility etc. Hasn't contributed a dime to the household in three years. Its a good thing I have a sense of humor or I'd be in jail on a variety of charges stemming from loss of temper.
a shame all these people have socialism as their goal instead of freedom. dumbasses have no idea whats going on. im so sick of retarded socialists who have no clue whats going on.
A resource based economy is the only way to get the power into the hands of the people. Google it. Its amazing. Ok yes we can try with a monetary economy but the ONLY way that will work is if two things happen. 1. Ron Paul becomes president. 2. We do not allow the fucks at the top to kill Dr. Paul. 3. We all work together and not be greedy fucks.
I mean come on...what do you guys really want out of life? I just wanna live in a world where people are not starving to death
@pwih1987 interesting but Ron Paul doesn't really want to dismantle the free market, but the government. if you were to say dismantle the free market and then implement the resource based economy that would've been interesting. it seems with a resource based economy you actually would want a government to handle human nature, scarcity and greed are two sides of coin. but some greedy people like to steal for the sake of stealing, unless you plan to RFID folks lol
and smoke some fucking bomb ass weeed. I cant stop people from getting raped and robbed. But we can stop hunger and pointless war. Ron PAUL 2012. INDUSTRIAL HEMP FORVER!!! Industrrial hemp is NOT marijuana. Do some research before you speak. And they do not come from the same plant. Industrial hemp and marijuana cannot be grown next to each other.
@HouseofVespucci Allowing different rights for different classes of people is wrong. The same laws should apply to all equally. In my county the cops and judges and court staff can come and go thru non public doors while the public gets x rayed and has to empty their pockets and can not carry a cell phone in. If you forget it will be stolen, oops conficated and you will be charged with a crime! Absolute lunacy!
@plalelal hmmm rights? classes? safety oh yeah safety is important and protection against hate crimes and this law applies to all of people. most people in an emergency will dial 911 for help--yeah cops steal and so do fellow citizens. free market with or without government creates economic classes, people not the free market create ideas about skin tone, age, religion to reinforce their own wealth disparity--that's not always the wealthy that pit one person against another.
The "people" or rather "entities" whatever they are - in Washington with elite globalist bankers, are pathological liars. They collude to financially rape, since at least 1913 with their tool Woodhead Wilson, when the bastards formed the non Federal non Reserve to rape the country and world. Their heads would look interesting on long spikes overlooking the cities they pillaged, while birds peck and defecate upon them just as they did to humanity for years.
Capitalist systems do not socialize losses, and privatize gains. Bailouts and central planned bubbles are not capitalism. We live in a fascist system. You cannot change definitions to suite your cause. Capitalism is not the problem, fascism is.
So, what shall we replace fascism with? More of the same? Communism?
The problem is not capitalism, the SOLUTION is. What other system has enriched the COMMON PEOPLE more than pure-FREE CAPITALISM?
Certainly not communism, socialism, or autocracy....
@SeppLainer Corporatism is a direct result of unfettered, deregulated, market fundamentalism. As Karl Popper said "If the government does not intervene to control the markets, other shady organizations, such as trusts, multi-national predators and political extremes, will." If you let markets run amok, there is nothing stopping them from banding together to create monopolies, infiltrating government to pass favourable laws and crushing the middle- and working-class.
Corporatism (facism) is a direct result of excessive power held by the state. Who enables fascism? It's not the people. It's the state. The state now independently creates laws, despite what the public desire. We are not a democracy, nor a republic, we are a fascist state controlled by government.
The fascist elites in bed with the state can only thrive by taking advantage of this system, as competition in a truly unfettered market would put them out of business.
@SeppLainer I'm not denying that private corporations have seized control of the government and our public institutions, but the solution is not more of the same neoliberal politics that espouse deregulation of our economy, privatization of our public assets and services, tax cuts for the rich and benefit cuts for the poor.
The solution is to establish a strongly regulated, mixed economy with cooperation between unions, companies and government. That is what built this country after WW2.
May I also add, government intervention never benefits society. It only benefits the ones who, ironical, people think need to be intervened upon. It's a joke. It's like hiring the police to catch criminals, and then finding out the cops and robbers are bloody mates in on it together.
Do you have any proof to the contrary? Because I do have plenty of proof of intervention hurting society, yet I cannot prove a negative. No one can. I can point out a few instances of intervention causing society great problems. Hoover's diet-fascism, gov intervention is what made a correction into a recession.
And then we have FDR, the most intervention in the market, ever, prior to Bush and Obama. FDR's policies and fettering clearly prolonged and worsened the depression.
@SeppLainer As for FDR, any proof to back that claim up?
Economic growth and employment levels increased for four successive years as New Deal policies were pursued by FDR. When government spending was slashed in '37 due to concerns about the budget deficit, all the gains were lost in one year, and growth only resumed after spending increased again from '38, as a response to the growing acceptance of the case for deficit spending in a recession.
The economic growth and employment were fictitious. Government cannot create sustainable jobs without robbing the public sector, enforcing tyrannical rule, and printing or borrowing endless money. Unsustainable.
Sir, are you aware of what happened in 1921? 1946? Deficit spending merely prolongs and worsens the correction. Had Hoover and FDR not intervened and took massive control of the economy, perhaps the Great Depression would have never occurred.
@SeppLainer Had FDR not intervened, the US would have been plunged into fascism.
Corporations try to maximize profits in the short-term and therefore want lower wages, lower taxes and worse conditions, which leads to less demand, which leads to smaller profits, which leads to corporations firing people/driving down wages in order to uphold profit-margins, etc.
An equilibrium is created, with high unemployment and low economic activity. The only way to get out is through government intervention
@SeppLainer In your opinion, probably, since you consider government intervention in any way, shape or form to inevitably lead to bonegrinding poverty, autocratic dictatorship, misery and repression.
Intervention in "any way"? No sir, the intervention taken was purely fascist. There are some forms of intervention that are very much the government's role...Such as enforcement of contracts, and staying neutral. It is because the government got involved in the housing market, that led to the bubble and subsequent burst. And it was the government's bailouts that have led us to more debt, wasted money, higher inflation, and a lingering recession.
@SeppLainer As I said, dogmatic dismissal of government intervention won't get you anywhere except to the marginalized, fringe right-wing
You would be hard pressed to find people who would see the New Deal as a fascist intervention. It was a program that consisted of thousands of different measures, ranging from investment in public infrastructure, purchasing orders at companies and war production to stronger labour rights and trade unions so as to create purchasing power and a will to consume
Just because I'd be hard pressed to find someone that hasn't succumbed to propaganda and brainwashing, doesn't mean I am incorrect.
I also find it hilarious you just outlined the steps taken, and don't consider it fascism. "investment in public infrastructure, purchasing orders at companies and war production to stronger labour rights and trade unions"
Although I support OWS, I dislike those who only have a vague idea of what they're fighting for. This political ignorance of "rich people iz bad" is unfounded. OWS is a movement against political corruption that occurs when corporations bribe politicians through campaign funds. It's also about tax equality, and patching up the tax loop-holes.
Ignorance is not strength. Learn what you're fighting for or risk the demise and the subversion of the movement.
Join the mob and fight.

If that's what you're hearing, then you're not listening.
It's the fact that capitalism is extinct,
under the corporate/usury theocratic fascist plutarchy,
that keeps people with a lesser avarice addiction,
from the normalcy of taking care of themselves.
It might be inherently democratically socialist,
to insist that the criminal class stop being rewarded for their thievery,
& that neglected infrastructure be maintained,
but it is NOT within a realm of sanity; "communist".

Its a good thing I have a sense of humor or I'd be in jail on a variety of charges stemming from loss of temper.

I just wanna live in a world where people are not starving to death
pwih1987 4 months ago
@pwih1987 interesting but Ron Paul doesn't really want to dismantle the free market, but the government. if you were to say dismantle the free market and then implement the resource based economy that would've been interesting. it seems with a resource based economy you actually would want a government to handle human nature, scarcity and greed are two sides of coin. but some greedy people like to steal for the sake of stealing, unless you plan to RFID folks lol

HouseofVespucci 4 months ago
@HouseofVespucci Allowing different rights for different classes of people is wrong. The same laws should apply to all equally. In my county the cops and judges and court staff can come and go thru non public doors while the public gets x rayed and has to empty their pockets and can not carry a cell phone in. If you forget it will be stolen, oops conficated and you will be charged with a crime! Absolute lunacy!
plalelal 4 months ago
@plalelal hmmm rights? classes? safety oh yeah safety is important and protection against hate crimes and this law applies to all of people. most people in an emergency will dial 911 for help--yeah cops steal and so do fellow citizens. free market with or without government creates economic classes, people not the free market create ideas about skin tone, age, religion to reinforce their own wealth disparity--that's not always the wealthy that pit one person against another.
HouseofVespucci 4 months ago

SeppLainer 4 months ago
@SeppLainer Corporatism is a direct result of unfettered, deregulated, market fundamentalism. As Karl Popper said "If the government does not intervene to control the markets, other shady organizations, such as trusts, multi-national predators and political extremes, will." If you let markets run amok, there is nothing stopping them from banding together to create monopolies, infiltrating government to pass favourable laws and crushing the middle- and working-class.
atosafi1 4 months ago
@atosafi1
No sir,
Corporatism (facism) is a direct result of excessive power held by the state.
SeppLainer 4 months ago
@SeppLainer I'm not denying that private corporations have seized control of the government and our public institutions, but the solution is not more of the same neoliberal politics that espouse deregulation of our economy, privatization of our public assets and services, tax cuts for the rich and benefit cuts for the poor.
The solution is to establish a strongly regulated, mixed economy with cooperation between unions, companies and government. That is what built this country after WW2.
atosafi1 4 months ago
@SeppLainer This is truth.
spokewhilehecould 4 months ago
@atosafi1
May I also add, government intervention never benefits society. It only benefits the ones who, ironical, people think need to be intervened upon. It's a joke. It's like hiring the police to catch criminals, and then finding out the cops and robbers are bloody mates in on it together.
SeppLainer 4 months ago
@SeppLainer Any proof to back that claim up? Or is it just mindless blabbering and verbal diarrhea?
atosafi1 4 months ago
@atosafi1
SeppLainer 4 months ago
@SeppLainer As for FDR, any proof to back that claim up?
Economic growth and employment levels increased for four successive years as New Deal policies were pursued by FDR. When government spending was slashed in '37 due to concerns about the budget deficit, all the gains were lost in one year, and growth only resumed after spending increased again from '38, as a response to the growing acceptance of the case for deficit spending in a recession.
atosafi1 4 months ago
@atosafi1
Sir,
The economic growth and employment were fictitious.
SeppLainer 4 months ago
@SeppLainer Had FDR not intervened, the US would have been plunged into fascism.
Corporations try to maximize profits in the short-term and therefore want lower wages, lower taxes and worse conditions, which leads to less demand, which leads to smaller profits, which leads to corporations firing people/driving down wages in order to uphold profit-margins, etc.
An equilibrium is created, with high unemployment and low economic activity. The only way to get out is through government intervention
atosafi1 4 months ago
@atosafi1
You are basically saying FDR saved us from plunging into fascism by implementing......fascism?
SeppLainer 4 months ago
@SeppLainer In your opinion, probably, since you consider government intervention in any way, shape or form to inevitably lead to bonegrinding poverty, autocratic dictatorship, misery and repression.
Friedrich von Hayek much?
atosafi1 4 months ago
@atosafi1
SeppLainer 3 months ago
@SeppLainer As I said, dogmatic dismissal of government intervention won't get you anywhere except to the marginalized, fringe right-wing
You would be hard pressed to find people who would see the New Deal as a fascist intervention. It was a program that consisted of thousands of different measures, ranging from investment in public infrastructure, purchasing orders at companies and war production to stronger labour rights and trade unions so as to create purchasing power and a will to consume

Sir,
Just because I'd be hard pressed to find someone that hasn't succumbed to propaganda and brainwashing, doesn't mean I am incorrect.
I also find it hilarious you just outlined the steps taken, and don't consider it fascism. "investment in public infrastructure, purchasing orders at companies and war production to stronger labour rights and trade unions"
Speaking of "dogmatic dismissal"...
