I use the L96 with straight pull and when I post the first shot I aim for a spot and see where the bullet falls. After a while you just sort of know and get a feel. So far can't break the 615m distance.

I also use land markers (such as flags) to help with my shot. If I am 375m away from lets say B Flag, then I'll use aprox. 3/4 of the way down from Mil Dot II. That's just me though.

Figured as much. I know that half way down (from the actual cross-hair) is 150m, and that incriment is the same. I.e. Mil Dot I is ~200m, Mil Dot II is ~300m etc.

I am relatively new to sniping in BF3 and one of my greatest falls is judging distance. Any tips? And yes, I know of the Mil Dot System. That helps, but my shots rarely seem to hit on target. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@HE11FIRE100 i dont use any system, the markers help on the rifle but you feel/guess roughly the first and then adjust if it went too high or low!

after practice you will be able to unconsciously just know where to aim without thinking

Don't get me wrong... these shots were amazing... you're defenitly an awesome sniper... But i doubt that staying so far away is very effective... When you hit well at these distances, you should be able to hit every single shot quite fast in distances of +80 - +150...

Did you keep the distance just for the montage or do you always play in that way?

@JDrakataka the bullet drop is different from gun to gun, start using one specific gun and learn the bullet drop for that gun by shooting, lol, lots of shots from different ranges and you'll get the hang of bullet drop, i prefer the m98b because it has longer range so you dont have to compensate as much for the bullet drop.

@Paydrohh I haven't really noticed a difference in the three bolt action rifles excluding the time it takes to chamber a new round. I think it comes down to personal preference. The M98B is the slowest in regards to scoping time (shouldering the rifle) and chambering (loading animation.)

Take a look at the gameplay ..... when i shoot sniper my scope is going up and down with so call "Breathing".... his scope is perfectly stable with no up down movement for breathing... did he hack his game to get better results? Can I have the hack too!!!! I hate the scope moving up and down.... so unrealistic because in real life my deer hunting scope never moves up and down as much as this game does!!! Gimme a break!!
