George Best was a fantastic player, no doubt about that. Jimmy Johnstone was a better player in my opinion. In fact, I believe that Jimmy was, and still is, the greatest footballer the world has ever seen. He was brave, he could head a ball, he was two footed, (watch the goal he scored against Rangers) and no defender could live with him. George Best was a fantastic player, no doubt about that. Jimmy Johnstone was a better player in my opinion. In fact, I believe that Jimmy was, and still is, the greatest footballer the world has ever seen. He was brave, he could head a ball, he was two footed, (watch the goal he scored against Rangers) and no defender could live with him. He gave every other player in the team a frequent rest during games by taking the ball and going for a walk with it. He could do this all day long. Brilliant!
