i currently have this psu with an overclocked amd 955BE at 3.8gz and an overclocked 5770 at 970/1375mhz on the attached pci-e cable and it runs fine. i have everything setup on the attached cables so didnt even need to use the modular cables.
Hey man what it's the main diferance between truepower and signiture? and can you do a review like antec trupower vs antec signiture with the same power saying 650W.
In your video, the PSU fan is facing down. Is the fan intake or exhaust? My case is Antec 300, and there is no ventilation hole at the bottom, so even if I put this PSU fan facing down, if it is exhausting air, it will still exhausting at the bottom plate and the warm air goes up, back into the PSU?
I just bought one of these and it exploded the first time I powered it up. Not very impressed as I've always had cheap PSUs in the past and when I finally spend money on a decent one it blows up in my face, literally.
hi,i would like to have your opinion about this: im can't decide on what psu to purchase my options are the Antec TP550 and a HEC Cougar cm700 im currently using a: athlon II x4 oc 3.4 all stock but plannin to get around 3.7-3.8 planning to get 2 5770's or 2 5850's in the long run,so a cf config 4gb ram 3 120mm fans v6 gt and 2 hdd's.. i want reliable with a reliable power psu that could serve me well for a couple of years, for a cf set..thanks a lot.great videos always
What i dont understand is that you said that i should connect the graphics card to the modular cables? cant i connect and use only the cables already attached.
How many amps does a 5850 need per rail? This Antec power supply says that two of its 12v rails have 25 amps each. If I connect the 2 power cables from the 5850 into the 12v rails with the 25 amps, will everything run smoothly and I won't have to change any of the settings? (As you may tell, I am a total newb when it comes to building a computer)
sorry, but your reviews on PSU are terrible. first of, that software is completely wrong, the +12v rail is not on 13v on a reliable psu like this, guys, if you want to see a real review go to:
@PCWizKid Awesome, the EPS 750w psu i'm considering if i should buy has 20 amps :O
Though i hear a loooot of people recommending single rail psu's.. Corsair's TX/HX in particular.. What's that all about? Are there no good And cheap psu's?
helo.. not that knowledgeable in psu.. why is it, it is much better to have a dedicated single +12 volt rail if planning to go multiple GPUs, than having four +12 volt rail.. please help any one..
@fallen9057 i guess start with the motherboard and found out which socket it has and pick out a cpu for it, or vice versa. then found out what kind of ram the motherboard needs, you can usually find what memory is compatible on the motherboards manufacturer website sometimes called QVL or Qualified Vendors List. if you're not getting a video card then make sure that the motherboard has integrated graphics or you wont be able to hook a monitor up.
i have a question, (i am new to all this psu stuff) but, does AMD motherboards and Intel motherboards both work with the same PSU, or do the PSUs differ because of the AMD and Intel Motherboards?
No they work exactly the same but do look around before you buy one, because when got I mine which is the PSU that's been reviewed in this video and even though I'm happy with it, there are a lot of PSU's around and you might want to be sure it's the one for you but the factor of compatibility for you motherboard won't be a problem.
To give you an Idea , ask an electrician or a outside " Hydro Poleman" , they will tell you that the number they look at is the amps . I've touched 50,000 volt Tesla Coil at a science show , no amps ,it made our hair stand up , the Electric chair(Barbaric) on the other hand uses the voltage is usually 2,000 to 2,200 volts at seven to twelve amps, That tells you the Importance of AMPS...
I like this guys reviews but I disagree on Running a Quadcore with 2 ati 5770's in crossfire ,They are Rated for 400 watts at stock speeds , If you overclock your cards and cpu , You are Running that PSU at it's limit too often (Gaming) Best to get something more powerful...
@cssful Well , I guess you don't have anything overclocked , the 5850 takes about 280 watts under load at stock and about 315 watts when overclocked ,Doesn't leave you much juice for other things ....You are Running that PSU hard... I hope bad things don't happen , you have a great 300$ card , I would put a Brand new 60$ 650 watt PSU with it...
@huy405 Cpuid ,it's free ... Problem is I've yet come across a program that measures the Amps on the Rails ,those are more important than the Watts... The Reviewer should have mentioned that , I've had a 500 watt 42 amp PSU , it handles my overclocked cpu and overclocked 4890 with no problem ( I didn't think it would , I under clocked the video card by 15% to start with ) I now have it Overclocked again , No Problems !....
@mrjamesb56 ,... I had the same system with a 600 watt 18Amps on 2 rails each(36 total) and the Video card would choke overclocked and the PSU would get warm , It started getting really warm and that's when I changed it out for the 500W ,42 Amp one ,...The Next PSU I get , I'm going with a Single Amps Raul (lots) Again , that's my opinion...
Thx for ur response mr james! I have another question though
I got the PC Power and Cooling S61EPS 610W Continuous @ 40°C EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PSU. would it be ok to run 1 HD5770, 2 HD5570, then 1 HD5850 or 2 HD5850. I dont know much bout PSU thing so... if u could help I appreciate it. Because I burnt one PSU before this one and it killed my 2 Hard drive and the 9800gt (lucky i got warranty on the Gpu)
does anybody know where can i read/watch a review of the lcpower metatron / ozeanos 650W power supply....i cant find anything about it .. is it better than this?
