...so it's not about choosing the best song anymore - it turned out into more of a plebiscite, in which the country liked by the other countries (or at least disliked the least by the rest) wins...so in it's current state I somehow don't see any reasonable artistical reason (besides money, of course) to continue this charade. :-/

@yoeltole - actually, the idea behind this was to make it only melodical - but due to the Eurovision's rules, they added the vocals (the vocalist only worked with the band on that song, at least from what I read) ;)

I think that the current Eurovision is just a parody of it's former self - but it's not only due to the changes in the general music style, rather the fact that most european countries started to become more and more nationalistic, not as "open minded" as they used to be in the 90's
