The actual connection speed will not depend on what browser you are using, that is determined by; How fast your modem/network interface card is, how fast any cable or DSL modem you have is, how far away you are from your ISP's nearest node, and how fast of speeds your ISP provides.

Also, running out of disk space or low RAM can result in slower speeds

People, People... Chrome is faster than FireFox or Internet Explorer, and it does load pages that use a lot of javascript and other elements faster due to the way its programed to read pages.

However, it will not make your Internet faster.

And I do not dare switch to Chrome until Adblock Plus, Chatzilla, and more customization is available. Unfortunately, this won't happen for a while... Google's goal was to be minimal in their browser. Oh well.

You are forgetting a very important piece of information. If you read the EULA on Chrome, any thing that you see or input on the browser Google has the right to view it aswell. For those who dont understand that... It means usernames, passwords, personal email.

Why would you use Chrome anyways? Only thing its good for is netbooks. Everything else its useless on and cant perform as well as any thing else...

@gamebuster800 yea but it has built in features that work just like firebug does... just fiddle with the developer stuff a bit... right click on the icon on the top right that looks like a page with the corner folded down - and go to "developer" and see what it can do.

No. I have downloaded and tested Google Chrome. To get that kind of speed, you would need a nearly blank hard drive. You also would have had to be able to read 20 words per second. This video is not at all realistic. Google Chrome is a very lousy and annoying browser. If I were you, I would not even try it.

I am unaware of any security vulnerabilities in Chrome. I know it is open source, but it is also Webkit based (Safari, and a plethora of other browsers run on Webkit) which leads me to believe it is quite secure. I don't know much about browser security though. However, it seems "hacking" someone through his/her browser would be far more complicated and difficult than other methods.

It is pretty fast. (: It's not just the internet connection, compared to firefox and IE it is faster.

However, I like firefox extensions and all that, and plus chrome doesn't have enough HUGE good points for me to use it fulltime. So it just sits on my computer for now. :P

It's not trying to show off features rather it's speed. It's been tested to be the fastest browser, especially with Java programs like Gmail. I just need extension support for Chrome so I can get the AdBlock Plus extension I miss from Firefox . Other than that Google chrome is amazing.
