Wow! it blows my mind! the gods of guitar falls from heaven. plus Phil Collins the lefty drummer, and Sting its Perfect! I am just wondering who's that guy on percussion? any ideas? thanks for uploading anyway.
@jonathandublin1 i guess you should know the reason for his saying it. Ill bet its from the band "The Shadows" the band who Mark were inspiered from. Hank Marvin told from stage, why they allways change the guitars so often, and than he said because he can..
Now that is real talent that is on that stage. I feel sorry for teenagers growing up now because they are bombarded by no talent hacks like Justin Bieber, Kesha, Usher, and a host of other over glorified dancers who couldn't get by without their voices being digitized and having a drum machine backing them up. People will forget about them, Sting , Collins, Clapton and Knopfler are men who will endure the test of time. Today’s radio listeners are musically impoverished.
The performance here is great, but they had to be very PR about the cut of the song. The original does use 'faggot' to refer to 'the owner of a jet airplane' and 'millionaire'. It wasn't meant to be derogative, though. Money for Nothing was originally Dire Straits' comedic take on the concept of MTV. But it became one of their most popular songs, ironically. I still like this performance, though. But the original video does their song justice.
This is the worst version of Money for nothing I have ever heard. Don't get me wrong, I love the Dire Straits and I love the song, but this is just horrible. And I have probably heard every version of this song. First I thought, this has to be the best thing ever with this line up, but the sound is really bad und miserably mixed down. Unfortunately, the same holds for brothers in arms, my all time favorite (if you want to hear the best version try the on the night concert!)
Sting sounds like SHIT in this performance. I wish the bouncers would've bounced his ass out. Would've been pretty funny. But everybody else is great. I can't stand Sting.
@redraw01 dude your the biggest ass....what do want, another useless guitar strumming.....sometimes you should add anything more before you pollute the process...sting has always made that song
Nowadays guitarists may have more technique than Knopfler and Clapton, but their music is definitely not like Dire Straits' or Cream's. Knopfler and Clapton have music in the blood. And the vid is simply awesome, thank you principalsuspeito
