  • Classic shyt...real hip hop. reminds me of the good ol days. Before skinny jeans n herb was trendy.

  • Black Rob was first heard on this album if i am not mistaken, i think Puff signed him after hearing him on the album and also Chad (one half of Cru) became one of the Hitmen (Puffy's production team)......CLASSIC UNDER RATED SLEPT ON ALBUM

  • @PATHH88 You're right about Black Rob, but it was actually Yogi, not Chad. I still like "Let's Get It" that he produced for G. Dep.

  • sick also like the last ones! :)

  • The most slept on album in 97,classic.

  • @boots13100 O.C.'s "Jewelz" was slept on. This album had some joints but way too many meaningless skits.

  • @steeltownbrown52 Yea Jewelz was slept on also, the skits wasnt bad, it wasnt no Prince Paul skitz but it was alright.

  • Comment removed

  • @steeltownbrown52 Yeah, true. "Jewelz" along with Common's "One day it'll all make sense" ,Diamond D's "Hatred, Passions, and Infidelity" were also slept on(IMO).

  • @78donjon Yeah, I didn't cop "One Day It'll All Make Sense" til' Winter-early 98'. Was blown away by "Invocation" and "Hungry"(which dropped round that time). I just finished high school and started working at my first job. "Hatred,Passion and Infidelity" I copped the day of release cause I loved "Hiatus".

  • @steeltownbrown52 Word thats crazy bcuz I had just finished high school also and was heading off to army basic training. I copped Diamond, Common, O.C., and Busta's "Disaster Strikes" at the same time, the day before I graduated from basic training. I agree totally about "Hiatus" . To this day that beat just sucks me right in. You just inspired me to go see if I can find another copy. Im fortunate to live in an area that has a vintage hiphop spot. I just copped Jeru's 1st joint a few months bac.

  • @78donjon Most of these albums we've mentioned(and a ton more that came out in 97') all received 3.5/5 mic ratings in Source Magazine.

  • used to have it on cassette.

  • If you can't feel this, your'e aurally paralyzed

  • @IIIAlexxIII It's called Just Another Case but it merges into Pronto at the point where Slick Rick should have come in. A shame for sure

  • ik dacht het effe wel heee!

  • These cats was hot. We need them back .

  • I don't understand what happened with CRU. The Dirty 30 album dropped and it was hot. Then they vanished into the hip hop abyss like they never existed. Chad used to do his thing bombing out in the BX. Chad and Phamer tag team. They should have blown up!

  • @ESCOXTC

  • @Topboi123 yo i agree with you 100%...beats these days use that digital instrument sound...back in the day, it was samples and real instruments....that real boom bop sound...

  • this album went so hard..dope track after dope track..miss those days when mcs put work in there music

  • this whole album is fire, wish they did more work

  • Man, this is a dope O.G. track. I'm almost embarrassed to say I hadn't heard of these guys until now. I've gotta give thanks to Grandmaster Flash for playing this on his Saturday night show on Sirius/XM. It's depressing to think of the garbage that gets passed off as "hip-hop" these days and somehow finds success. With the exception of a few old heads still in the game, and even fewer newcomers out there, nobody's making music anymore for the fans of true school hip-hop.

  • Ha-ha. Never knew there was a vid to this one. Still a banger. Thx!

  • good add takes me back yo

  • @bigzizzo Someone has taught you well young one. Now tell ya friends to do the same. Dont let true school die.

  • I heard this on Power 939 out of Wichita, Kansas on the radio. It was freakin DOPE. Seriously took me like 3 years to find out who actually did the song and have been burning this song on Tons of burned CD mixes i own now...prolly since 2000/2001.....

  • I used to play the hell out of this cd! I have to buy this cd again! album still hotter than some albums out now!!!!!!!

    its a miracle..

  • I remember hearing this in 1997, but I never caught who did the song. It took me 10 years ('07) to find who made this song, and it was only because Consequence used the beat for "Disperse"! I love this song.

  • Siiiiiiiiiick...slick rick inspired luv.
