uhh yea. It's normal to waste aroun 100 max repels. The odds of finding a shiny when your chain is at 40 is a .2% chain. There is a decimal point in front of the 2 on purpose.

1/201, but you have to devide that by four, since idealy 4 patches shake. So you realy have a 2% chance at 40

well there are 2 ways. One is getting it from pokemon colluseum by getting a quilava and then transfering it over to emerald, ruby, or sapphire and breeding it to get an egg of a cyndaquil. The other way is on emerald, but this way is much harder. You have to collect all the pokemon in the game except deoxys and jirachi. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong on that. Then you go talk to professor birch and he will let you choose totodile, chickorita, or cyndaquil.
