  • you think about every little thing that happened in th 1960s everytime i hear this somg

  • man I wish this song wasn't so relevant to today's ethos, whoever you are, you are amazing because you live by the moment that makes your heart leap, break and resonate like a voice, a guitar and an ear. Share the art that is your birth right. One resonating motion in an polluted ocean.

  • i was born in the wrong generation. it makes me crumble at the thought of people loving one another again. just for being who we are. i missed the greatest fucking monumental concert of all time. the most friendly people. and understanding flowing through the blood of damn near everyone. let the music live on people. ♫peace♥love♫

  • I love his voice and with Jim Sturgess doing the harmony it sounds amazing. I loved this version and the movie was great.

  • epic song, that movie was dope

  • what a beautiful film! One of the most, I ever seen...

  • Why does the beginning kinda sound like "Hello" from Lionel Richie? lol

  • Oh the things I would do to have a voice like this... Amazing. Especially "weeps" at 3:09. Goosebumps.

  • @GodofAnotherWorId HAHAHAHAHA it happens took me about a year to realize

  • Great guitar solo at 2:00-2:20

  • literally gave me goose bumps..... Amazing

  • thiss iss my all time favoritee songg:) he has the most beautiful voicee hahaa

  • WHAT KIND OF MUSIC IS THIS??? LOVE THE DRUMS AND GUITAR!!!!!

  • @MrPeterHer It's counted as rock or blues rock, but with a soulful voice like this, you might as well add R&B to it as well.

  • This bitch sounds like Lionel Richie!

  • McCoy has an incredible voice...I have shivers.

  • this songs gives me more than chills...it gives me the ability to understand the world

  • amazing its the kindof song and voice that is so beautiful it give you the chills

  • This version is so beautiful.

  • he has such a sweet voice. I love to hear him singing this song.

  • Who is singing this song? Some people say Eric Clapton but as I read others are saying it was a black guy. Who is the singer? His voice is amazing and he is pouring his heart into this song

  • @deanne609 This version is sung by Martin Luther McCoy. He's the black man in the movie who plays the character Jojo

  • @MidnightHour14

Thank you..I finally figured that out. I never saw the movie. But I did find him on fb after hearing this. Wow is all I can say. This man has a heavenly voice that just runs through my soul listening to him sing. He has some great songs on his youtube channel. /martianluther

  • This is a Lord Have Mercy Moment....Oh my God...THANK YOU JESUS! <3

  • I LOVE The Beatles,,,but i likes dis version better!!

  • Best cover of this song I've heard yet, love it so much!

  • @Whoretonn I tootaly agree :)

  • so moving, great cover

  • A soothing voice you have go to a dark sad part of your heart to pull that off

  • The Beatles are always better

  • "With every mistake, we must surely be learning." That was incredibly gorgeous, that harmony.

  • his name is martin luther mcCoy......jus sayin :)

  • que buena version, pega justo estar con vos,,,

  • sounds like brian mcknight.

  • Many departures from the original, most of which make little sense in the artistic context of the work. Obviously the performers here have technical talent, and a careful producer, as did the Beatles themselves. But no cover by the Beatles (not even "My Bonnie"), or Harrison solo, was so disrespectful towards the (in this case especially awesome) melody, harmonies, and rhythm of the original. Thumbs down, except as an exhibit for 95% of "music" today being not in the same universe with Beatles.

  • who's singing that?? I really need to know!

  • @asiula00 His name is Martin Luther.

  • Good, but the original version is way better and incomparable!

  • 25 people are gently weeping

  • @RodneyAr shut your face b4 i make ur facebook gently weep

  • a master piece of the greatest band ever... awesome performance... but the beatles version is better... always.. nobody can compare to them... HAIL THE BEATLES

  • 25 people dont have a guitar that gently weeps

  • my fav song from the movie, love the original version but yes i have to agree that this is hands down the best... anyone who says its not soulful enough is deaf.

  • I dont think anyone, anything or anyone else could have told the beatles stories as perfect as these guys did(that's of course excluding the beatles them selfs. Lol). The movie was amazing.

  • i guess 25 people dont know wat real soul mean

  • how could anyone dislike any of these???

  • He has a nice voice but it doesn't even hold a candle to the original

  • I took my first date to this movie

  • @bluesboy25000 was it with a man?

  • @negativekind No. It was with a woman. She was an emphatic Beatles Fan

  • @bluesboy25000 Was her name Boy George?

  • @negativekind No it was Julie

  • @bluesboy25000 Ahhh, I see, short for Julian.

  • @bluesboy25000 Money and a night well spent.

  • @bluesboy25000 very bloody good choice there :D

  • @bluesboy25000 you got married right? She should marry you!!! :P or, he should marry you. Either way, GET MARRIED :D

  • @IamKylieE We never dated again

  • his voice gives me the chills. <3

  • @shaweet1234 I agree, but it's a nice, almost relaxing kind of chill.

  • @shaweet1234 I know right?! MAN! I love singing along with him..its fun! :)

  • love it <3

  • That was directed @ Energizer Bunny

  • i love this song i can sing it the whole day long!

  • This sings with lots of emotion, no one can doubt that.

but in my opinion, that's the wrong emotion. he sings it so simply so uncomplex

this song is so unflat and came from so deep, from hard complex maybe even contredicting feelings.

  • eh i still prefer the original.

  • god, those sexy moans

  • i love it when he says i don't know how someone controled you. omg i love it he did sooo good!

  • @BigBossInc If you don't like the song from the movie, don't deliberately go out of your way to trash them. Let the people who love them enjoy it. It just makes you look immature and stupid.

  • @lifeismusic15 I'm sorry, but your emo haircut makes you look immature and stupid.

  • @BigBossInc hahahaha your hilarious. its called bangs bitch. get over it!

  • @lifeismusic15 Shut up baby, you know you love it.

  • @BigBossInc man how did you know?!!

  • @lifeismusic15 When you've been around like I have, you pick up on a few things. ;)

  • @BigBossInc babe your killin me! your such a stud :)

  • @lifeismusic15 How about we get together sometime?

  • The Beatles perfected this song. Its easy to take a masterpiece from the 60's add a new touch and have teenies say its better because it shares the sounds of their generation.

  • @atomicyouth

I do indeed agree and I want to add that it's completely different to write a song and to remake a song.

But they did work with the film.

  • @atomicyouth Its loved because it has such a soul that the Beatles tended to lack. They just don't have the same voice as Martin Luther McCoy. Therefore its loved for all new reasons, this movie wasn't trying to perfect the Beatles' songs just merely trying to shed a new light on them.

  • the only reasons the ACU versions have so much more emotion in them is because its easier when its for a movie and not an actual song they are fucking amazing but they will never be better than the beatles original versions

  • bravo!!

  • I want to hear this song when I die. also I want peple to play it at my funeral.

  • muuuuuuuuuuito boa (:

  • Incredible control. I have to close my eyes and listen.

  • I'm in love with that song! (L)

    Have a nice dayy!! (=

    xxx

  • I actually prefer the Across The Universe versions of MOST of the songs just because their voices hold so much more emotions!

  • @ViolentPixi sorry but that is just..... wrong. Very rarely is a cover of a song done that's better than the original, so to say that a number of Beatles songs have been "improved" is just a fallacy. Not to mention, how could their voices hold more emotion than the people who wrote the lyrics!?

  • @stewmberto ever hear of something called "someones own opinion"?

  • @alcadies thank you! :)

  • @stewmberto probably becausethese ppl are famous for the skillful way they portray emotions while sadly the beatles were not.

  • @potentialpenguin The issue with the Beatles' talents was that the had variety, and the ability to play different instruments, and to some extent different styles, but it was never very in-depth in any area. I agree, Ringo has no place on a list of greatest drummers of all time, Paul McCartney is not one of greatest guitarists of all time, but as songwriters, the Beatles were brilliant, and had enough talent to perform what they wrote. @ViolentPixi, I meant it is wrong to me, not universally.

  • @stewmberto well paul is one of the greatest singers and the greatest song wright ever. no doubt

  • This song was written by George Harrison and performed by eric clapton with the beatles man ;)

  • This song was written by George Harrison and performed by eric clapton with the beatles man ;)

  • @potentialpenguin The people in the film are more likely to have more emotion because they are actors, and theyre trained to be emotional, whilst the Beatles were just geniuses with words. :)

  • @ViolentPixi that's EXACTLY what i meant. :)

  • @ViolentPixi Damn straight; they took Beatles and made it EPIC!

  • @LordOfThePracticePad well, epic-er! :3

  • @ViolentPixi Well you have to think, back in the 60's, pot took away emotion.

  • @EZE2K14 hahaha :D nice!

  • @erilunalinda i believe that "across the universe" comes after this one.

  • i want to know the song that came next this in the movie but & just dont know what it is & jude sings the song

  • @erilunalinda

    I think it's Revolution.

  • @erilunalinda nooo i already found & its happines is war gun

  • this is about my 20th time listening to it...cant get enough!!!!

  • I so much like the blues solo in this song.

  • I love it sooo much!! Of course the original is the best, but it's also perfect. (L)

  • this is the only song that i think beats the original.

    so much soul and passion.

  • @fourevertwentyseven I couldn't agree more.

  • the vocals are just amazing!

  • i love this cover and i usually hate all the other covers for instance hello goodbye that the jonas brothers did almost made me throw up so thank you across the universe movie!!!

  • the guitar cry and i cry when i play this song hehehe.

  • I think some of you don't understand, this is a cover. The Beatles (George Harrison) wrote this song. It was a perfect song, this version sucks. Some of you say it like this is the original and The Beatles did the cover.

  • @Toady373 definitely have to agree noone can sing this song like the beatles no comparison

but i do think that the movie did do some great things with most of their songs

but for people to say this version is better .................(you're out of your minds)

  • @Toady373 Don't be stupid. Of course we understand that this is a cover. We clicked on the fucking link to this fucking video, knowing fully well that it's a fucking cover. That was the whole point of this movie, no one is ignorant of the fact that this is a cover.

Jesus fucking Christ, buddy. If you think any version of this song but the original sucks, than you are either retarded or... retarded.

    You must be retarded.

  • @Kimcee4younme Actually, I love the Eric Clapton verison of the song. And the Anthology version is great. And actually if you read the comments you'll see some people thought this was the original.

And I wouldn't be calling me retarded. You don't know what diseases I have. I could be actually mentally retarded. I'm not, but I know some people that are. Don't be a dick.

    Hare Krishna

  • @Toady373 If people think this is the original, then by all means, harass them. Go to town. I wouldn't mind. Hell, I'll join you. God knows they deserve it. Despite my colorful response towards it, that's not the brunt of my concerns.

My issue is your statement on the song. I don't know what inspired it. It wasn't even an opinion. You've said it straight up; "this version sucks".

As far as being a dick goes; I don't think you're in any position to confront me for my being inconsiderate.

  • Perfect song for this day in my life u.u

  • love this, absolutely amazing cover

  • 17 people missed the "like" button.

this is so friggen beautiful. Absolute favorite from the film, and definitely one of my favorite Beatles songs over all.

  • he's so soulful and absolutly makes me want to melt

  • This is one of the best songs in the whole movie. Its a work of art.

  • martin luther brought that hot fire when he sung this.

  • my heart is bleeding ...

  • Hermosaa :D Quien la canta?

  • good cover

  • Not a big fan of this intro. It doesn't have that malicious 70's theme. I love his voice and the guitar in the second verse. Overall, The Best Cover out there, just not as good as the original.

  • Martin Luther McCoy sure knows how to make this song bangin'.

  • I love this song so much more then the original...that's just me though

  • Seriously, where has the world's most awesome intro gone? Messes the song up in my opinion, sorry.

  • @Destroxy I so agree with you!

The beginning is supposed to be...sexy! :(

  • prince ripped the crowd a new asshole with his solo in this song, idk what vid, or where it was played, i just remember the godly performance, damnnnnnn. great song, you'll never see talent like this ever again.

  • Love this ♥♥

  • LOVE this.

  • who wrote this song

  • @gudge3214 George Harrison wrote this song. <3

  • @gudge3214

    george harrison.

  • so good

  • i love this movie & the beatles <3

  • Possibly one of the best cover songs ever <3

  • @haChristy Agreed!

  • the beatles may have written it, but I think this movie perfected it

  • @EnergizerBunny804 FUCK no. :)

  • @EnergizerBunny804 there is no such thing ....perfection does not exist.

Ayways: beatles did a great job in writing thos songs, and the movie did wonderfull interpretations of them ;-)

  • @EnergizerBunny804 actually the beatles did not write this george harrison and eric clapton wrote it, yes i am aware he was a beatles but they did not write this as a group same situation as here comes the sun george and eric

  • @EnergizerBunny804 I agree!!! I was VERY DISAPPOINTED when this song was NOT even on the soundtrack. This song is the whole reason I bought the soundtrack. I guess i'll check the back b4 buying next time. ha ha

  • @WillGdaFather It's on the 2 disc soundtrack.

  • @WillGdaFather

I just found this song on amazons extended version of the sound track....99 cents for the download

  • @EnergizerBunny804 I agree!!! I was VERY DISAPPOINTED when this song was NOT even on the soundtrack. This song is the whole reason I bought the soundtrack. I guess i'll check the back b4 buying next time. I think its bcuz he was black. ha ha

  • @WillGdaFather it's available on the deluxe edition

  • @EnergizerBunny804 I feel the same way about this song and "Let it Be"

  • As soon as i heard his voice that first time in the movie, i loved him!!!!

  • anyone know where i can find the tabs for this song

  • his voice is like caramel, its really nice, and perfect for this song specifically =). it makes the song that much more poignant

  • very, very, very good...

  • I have liked his singing voice for years now. He truly makes this song his own. I also like his song Daily Bread. I have yet to hear a Beatles cover better than this one. He did the Beatles proud with this one. (IMO)
