Viewer who couldn't accept the Supra's win claimed the Viper hit the brakes at the end of the track, claiming that's the reason why the supra caught up and passed him. That was not the case. The Supra just had more top end. The Supra actually did let off the gas before crossing the line, which is the reason for the low trap speed.

I've hear this before as well, I've heard that if diesel blow out smoke its not a good thing, and then I've heard that there running perfect when they blow smoke? I need to find out from a pro.
My understanding of turbo's is that the pressure through the exhaust manifold, turns the turbine, which turns the other part of the turbo and sends pressure into the intake, so would backfiring be completely harmful. I'm not entirely sure. I think its just because the fuel is such a high grade and maybe nitrous as well?
nope... backfire is fine. there is just as much pressure when the cylinder fires normal, a backfire is excess exploding in the manifold, and its keeping the turbo spinning.... alot of people flat foot shift when they drag to keep the turbo spinning, its not good on your car but it keeps turbo pressure up.... the new turbo cobalt ss has flat foot shifting integrated into the computer, and it backfires when you shift..
flat foot shifting is where you dont come off the gas when you put the clutch in, less fucking about, but obviously eats your clutch haha, not advised to do daily lol. not even weekly.
The Viper did jump the gun, he red light. I did that couple of times at the track hehe because of course you always have to try to get a good launch. I love vipers and supras, it doesnt mean the viper is weak though, it just means the supra was better tuned and better driver, YEAH the driver matters. Clearly the supra ate the Viper in this race.

Mike, what you are saying here is that you don't understand the tree. The red light at the bottom on the Viper's side indicates he left the line before he was suppose to. Besides, it's pretty easy to see with the naked eye. He got the jump, but still got reeled in. Races are won in the first 60 feet.

ehh not way over priced. a lot of research and development went into that car. it can get to 250 COMFORTABLY and that was its goal. not many cars can pass the 200 mark while remaining calm like the veryon. dont get me wrong i prefer way more cars over the veryon but it is a respectable car.....but i completely agree on the ugly part =D

Its beaten BV, and others, as for your "bone stock" comment, well, the cars its beaten are NOWHERE near bonestock. So yeah...?? I dont see where you were going with your post.
Ive seen supercharged z06's, lose to single turbo supras, Ive seen TT Vipers and Supercharged Viper's, lose to supra's. Nowhere did I say it was unbeatable. Sorry

It's funny how domestic car lover's can't accept that in this video a supra just won. Instead they all come rushing in with these " what ifs " scenario and talking about how fast the fastest domestic runs. It's not like when a supra loses, I come on here saying " what if that supra had 1000 hp or 2000 hp". Just accept it the supra won, and get your " what ifs " scenario out of here because it won't change the outcome of THIS race.

i agree i love the viper and supra but its not the viper its more the real muscle cars like mustang and camaro that they cant get over. muscle guys love to scream out ricer when there backed in a corner. and apperently any jap car including the supra wich destroys the mustang ,camaro and any domestic muscle you can name besides the T/A and charger.but its funny how a car with a big muffler is a ricer but its ok for a kid in a mustang to only mod his car with slp loud mouth now its badass lol

They make amazing drivers in terms of fit/finish and dependability. Clearly, 95+% of the posters in this thread favor the 2JZ over many other engine platforms. That's just fine. Hell, I have respect for the 2JZ. However, I happen to favor something else and I'm just poking fun. I do seriously feel the Supra crowd should be a bit more open minded.

lol im a kid 16 actually and i knew that flames doesnt mean nitrous its from the turbo idk exactly what causes it but its something to do with shifting i think when the waste gate opens up to cut back pressure from spinning the the turbines backwards and blowing the thing up

Viewer who couldn't accept the Supra's win claimed the Viper hit the brakes at the end of the track, claiming that's the reason why the supra caught up and passed him. That was not the case. The Supra just had more top end. The Supra actually did let off the gas before crossing the line, which is the reason for the low trap speed.

My understanding of turbo's is that the pressure through the exhaust manifold, turns the turbine, which turns the other part of the turbo and sends pressure into the intake, so would backfiring be completely harmful. I'm not entirely sure. I think its just because the fuel is such a high grade and maybe nitrous as well?

nope... backfire is fine. there is just as much pressure when the cylinder fires normal, a backfire is excess exploding in the manifold, and its keeping the turbo spinning.... alot of people flat foot shift when they drag to keep the turbo spinning, its not good on your car but it keeps turbo pressure up.... the new turbo cobalt ss has flat foot shifting integrated into the computer, and it backfires when you shift..

flat foot shifting is where you dont come off the gas when you put the clutch in, less fucking about, but obviously eats your clutch haha, not advised to do daily lol. not even weekly.

The Viper did jump the gun, he red light. I did that couple of times at the track hehe because of course you always have to try to get a good launch. I love vipers and supras, it doesnt mean the viper is weak though, it just means the supra was better tuned and better driver, YEAH the driver matters. Clearly the supra ate the Viper in this race.

Mike, what you are saying here is that you don't understand the tree. The red light at the bottom on the Viper's side indicates he left the line before he was suppose to. Besides, it's pretty easy to see with the naked eye. He got the jump, but still got reeled in. Races are won in the first 60 feet.
