Such a classic! Even 30 years later these guys symphonic rock sounds awesome and fresh! And holds its own against anything you hear today (ok that's a no brainer)
Genesis Six Hours LIve 1972-1980 2DVD set, Genesis The Lamb Live at the Shrine 1975 3-disc 2CD/DVD set, Genesis Live in Montreal 1974 2CD set, Genesis Live in Zurich 1977 2CD set available at Tommygun Video, please see our Youtube channel for link, video/audio clips, more details
I remember when they were -with Peter Gabriel- totally unknown and filled their first small places in Belgim but most of all in Italy with a few "thinking-out-of-the-box music lovers"
That is also why they wanted to end in Italy, where it all begun!
@NeedHeadMusic If you count the beats like that, it's actually 12345678. The first note/chord comes in before the first downbeat. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion.
GENESIS - BEST EVER BAND! Been a fan since 80's, but love the Gabriel stuff as well. Saw them 14 times on this tour...12 of which front row, including Rome... just AWESOME!
They don't dance and they actually play their instruments in real time.

I know the time signature is 4/4 but try to count 123, 12345 this is better fitting I think
what do you think?
From 1:53 it's the usual counting
NeedHeadMusic 1 year ago
@NeedHeadMusic It's all in 4, it's just that some parts are quite syncopated.
kylehudson00 1 year ago
@kylehudson00 I know
still I find, that you can count it 123 12345 better

I was there as well...except it was the second greatest concert I've ever seen.
Still, encompassing about 100+ bands, that's a damn fine honor!
