To address your larger point though, the President is held to a higher standard than a journalist like Hannity (I hope). And either way, Gibbs argument here is illogical (that is to compare Obama who had an intimate relationship w/Wright to Hannity having Martin as a guest on the show). Even if Obama apologized, his bad judgment is a bigger concern than Hannity's.
@Herbunder I think we finally both agree on something, that Gibbs' argument was illogical. Most people respond to attacks by attacking the attacker instead of defending themselves. As Gibbs did here, he went after Sean (as did I) instead of purely defending the charge. This strategy of attacking the character of the person who delivers the charge is illogical since it does nothing to actually counter the actual charge. But I guess it makes for good TV.

And either way, Gibbs argument here is illogical (that is to compare Obama who had an intimate relationship w/Wright to Hannity having Martin as a guest on the show). Even if Obama apologized, his bad judgment is a bigger concern than Hannity's.

@Herbunder I think we finally both agree on something, that Gibbs' argument was illogical. Most people respond to attacks by attacking the attacker instead of defending themselves. As Gibbs did here, he went after Sean (as did I) instead of purely defending the charge. This strategy of attacking the character of the person who delivers the charge is illogical since it does nothing to actually counter the actual charge. But I guess it makes for good TV.

I agree, it is absurd to hold an interviewer responsible for his subject 's views. Sometimes letting the subject drone on is a great way to find out about him instead of pestering them with questions or comments.

I encourage you to look into the history of where Sean Hannity came from. He was not born with a silver spoon. In fact for several years struggled to make ends meet. Do this before posting something so vile like this and you might find out he does actually relate to most Americans. I admire him, because he came from nothing and through hard work and dedication made something of himself and well deserves the money he makes today. And did it, may I add, without government handouts!
