The same sites, tools, ideas that have helped artists and small labels get exposure and make their music for very low cost at a much higher level of quality are the sites, tools, ideas that have also been made available to talentless individuals who are able to make high quality crap. And people aren't looking for quality anymore in music just like they're not looking for it in anything else: cars, houses, partners... everything is short-lived and disposable. Music is free. Sell t-shirts.

The label execs aren't musicians, they're businessmen, that's why they could give a fuck less about the actual art.
