  • where is the first part?

  • thanks for this man :)

  • you guys are assholes honest he is just trying to be a nice guy bye helping people and its his interpitaion it isnt wrong and if yo udont like it watch somthing eles damn, okay props for making this vid bro

  • What the hell people give this guy a fucking break he is just trying to help some people out but you gotta rub stuff in his face i had to make an account just to bitch you people out, dude you did a good job dude i got pretty darn far

  • did you get calluses on your index and middle finger from playing/practicing this song on your right hand? the first 3 hours of practice, my fingertip on my right hand (which was usually used for flatpicking/strumming) was sore.

good tutorial. have a nice day!

  • Awesome job man!

  • "it takes a long time and it realy hurts" -Haha. thats what she said !!

  • Stop teaching other people when you can't play this song by yourself.

The people trust you and learn with this tutorial and they don't know that you

are teaching them very badly because of the fact that you don't know how to play this song perfectly by yourself.

  • dude all you said about the plucking was pluck the G string.. and strum up.. down... sideways... blah blah blah... didnt give very specific directions that way

  • the spelling for this tune is DADGAD

  • atleast that guys learning by ear. hes putting more effort in than I do xD

  • its completly wrong

  • Nice dog! :)

  • youre hilarious dude. good work

  • not gonna lie, this is tough shit. got the beginning though, and slowly working out the timing. so different from trying to learn any other song.

  • wrong

  • I supposed one of these days I'm going to attempt to learn this. You explain it well man... thanks for the tips.

  • Thanks very much man! Your brilliant, ignore the wankers, they just fat bastards gettin tough from playing war games all day... And not having sex ever. lol!

  • sorry dude but u are out of tune

  • No its just that normal western guitars aren't supposed to be used for tabbing. Andy Mckee uses a baritone guitar (spelling?). Thats why

  • screw you man...you put something up...

  • Sorry about the folks who like to talk shit hiding behind there computer screens' but this is youtube and that's commom place on here. Its not the best tutorial of Drifting I've seen posted' but its still good. Myself' I don't wanna learn Andy McKee's "Drifting" but I'd like to take some of those idea's and make em my own.

  • gd but dude it is slightly wrong only the timing between the hands just need to get that right then ur sorted i learnt how to play it from this guy hang on im gonna post another one cus need to find him first :P

  • Actually the best tutorial i have seen so far on youtube is by Ramenrobot. Go look at his profile and checkout the andy mckee drifting tutorial he does it excellent.

  • Yeah brow, I know there a lot of wrong notes on my executation, but, I'm not teaching...but, you are a very good music man, ok? very good videos! look at my brasilian videos too.

    cya brow!

    Skiba.

  • wrong way to teach... learn before teach.

  • lol agreed

  • ohh fir my last comment its hence*for hemce, and sounds* for sonds

  • hey great .video 2 bad i have a nylon string .guitar soo i cant play this song on my guitar. even though i can play it on other guitars(steel)

  • I don't see why you couldn't. Hell, it may even be easier to make the tapping sound out on a nylon.

  • yeah that might be so but ny strings sound different no matter how well tuned , they are hemce confusing me, cuz it sonds different

  • dang thats a nice tutorial the dog is very cute too

  • Great Tutorial!!!

  • Your Dog Is awesome, and great lesson.

    Thanks.

  • Again AWESOME! Thanks for the lesson!

  • how long did it take u to learn it that well? lol

  • falou, falou , mas na hora de executar foi péssimo............tudo isso eu sei. Agora a execução ta teoria é que é o complicado de tudo.

  • Excellent explanation. I have been trying to figure out what he does at the six fret and you have help a-lot. When I'm famous I will by you a house. Thanks

  • great video, really helpful. i have the tab and its difficult to sync both the tab and andy's video together. Dont listen to negative feedback, the videos are areally useful well done!

  • Your tutorials are pretty good. I was learning this song and learned a lot from your vids but it's not all correct. Luckily I was able to figure out the parts you didn't do correctly on my own. Hopefully I will be able to post my cover soon and maybe some tutorials too.

Never the less, keep up the good work. Thanks for the vids.

  • itsmetiffay11, he didn't mess up. Read the video description. It's his interpretation. maybe he changed some parts on purpose.

  • Thats pretty cool! :) Check out my interpretation! I will upload another when i have a steel string guitar i did my video on nylon. Keep up the good playing!

  • Wrong or not, some ppl can learn something and improving, i think its nice to learn others what u know

  • Wrong!

  • CUTE DOG ! :D

  • 12 th fret sounds cool and is easyto hit, lol thats whati use

  • great job, but what exactly are you doing when you "hit the harmonic"?? What fret and which strings?? Thx

  • there are a couple of places you can hit a harmonic for this tunning but for the most part on this song just the 12th fret and I think the 17th or 18th fret.

  • @groovin5hoovin how the fuck can you concentrate and do the melody and bassline at the same time FFS How can u do that!

  • @hiladelphia just do a lot of practicing, do both separately and then worke them together slowly, it comes together

  • @groovin5hoovin its actually the 19th

  • this is the tuning d.a.d.g.a.d

  • ud be soo much better if u would work ur way up slower and gradually get in to rythm

cuz ur def off tempo when u play it "fast"

  • btw. look at the second plan at 2:34 :)

  • Nice dog - the master of background :))

  • how do you tune? is it DADGBE ?

  • DADGAD

  • COOL THANKS!

  • Good stuff man.

  • Theres no part 1?

  • Okay, I'm not trying to start an argument, but the way Andy does it is a lot easier, and in my opinion sounds better.

  • Cute dog :D!

  • Hey I am not taking any sides, but at least he tried to help people learn the song right? isn't that good enough? I learned from this video recently. It's not that bad I would honestly have to say its pretty good. I mean sure some parts arn't right, but hey he gave his time and effort to make this video. :P

  • how about you put up a video, showing your musical talent before commenting on whether I have learned the song properly or not!!

  • real mature

  • ignore him, you did an amazing job!

  • your a joke, shut the fuck up, if you dont play guitar you cant say if someone sucks or not. simple as that, go back to your fucken guitar hero thinking your musically inclined, id be impressed if you knew where the b string is in standard tuning.

  • you're exactly right, im currently trying to learn this song and it is one of the hardest projects ive done. it does take practice and good on u for saying that cos i completely agree with u.

  • lol

  • Good one mate, much appreciated. Looking forward to your updated post of part one if it's coming - as a string masher with zero sense of rhythm I need it explained nice... and... slow...

Thanks again, good karma to you.

  • wow , ,are you a punk ? your very kind man , ,keep it up , , i'll rate 5/5

  • I cant do both at the same time any help!?

  • work on the slapping part 1st and then work into playing the melody with the right hand

  • on the 6th fret when you said stream up 2 times first you shoulda siad down cause you're going down... Im confused now thnx. lol jk

  • sorry I didnt understand I like your dog also!

  • a little useless comment here, lol he said "do-do" :P

interesting interpretation. and i agree with

JakeAllenJohnson, i think it sounded a bit rushed at the end. very clear instructions though. nice one.

  • way different from the way i learned it. but it's always sweet to see someone else's interpretation of it. also at the end it seemed a bit rushed to me but that's just an opinion it still sounded pretty good.

  • thank you...but where is part 1?

  • very helpful!

  • nice hair. . . BA team

  • very nice:)

  • HE SAID 666! SIN! SIN! SIN! haha jk man great cover i learned alot from this still cant do it as good as andy though thanks alot :D
  • nice job, this helped me get the hammering and plucking part right

  • dude theres no first part

  • u remind me of the guy from looney tunes back in action.

    jkz ;P

  • Hey man, nice job. Just wanted to say that part 1 is missing...

  • I want to see the outakes.

  • they were funny.

  • wheres the first one!?!

  • you're missing a few notes in ther

  • wer is part 1

  • i feel dumb lol shudda read the side bar

  • man i shuda read the description lol

  • dude ur amazing

im findin reli hard to do da bass with the melody, cheers

  • Holy sh*t.. this seriously kills your right index finger to start with..!

  • tHANKS dUDE but i lIKE yOUR Dog listening the mASTER playing.

  • great song- just start learning it yesterday, got melody down but mixing it with the bass notes is gonna take time hah

thanks dude, i used your tutorials to help :]

  • on your hammer ons, if you hammer on directly on the fret bar it will sound cleaner andbetter but pretty good

  • I feel like an ass, haha, I just read the side bar

  • Where's video #1?

  • what, did u lose a bet or something? lol i like the haricut

  • Thanks very much for putting this up. It is very helpful!

  • For some reason, whenever I try to slide 11/12, my strings act up and it sounds like I'm sliding DOWN from 12/11. It's very odd. If I play it on the 9/19 on the A, though, it sounds right.

  • Not sure about the slide acting up. Maybe an intonation problem with the guitar. But if the other way works, go for it. Thanks for checking out my tutorial

  • its called a "back buzz". its vibrating on the back part of the string toward the nut. it tends to not happen on nicer guitars though.

  • is there any way to stop it??

wrap a cloth around the nut??

  • check out antoine dufour, he puts a Handkerchief around the top part of the guitar to eliminate buzz.

  • Pressing down a little harder will sometimes eliminate back buzz and you will be able to hear the 11/12 slide more clearly.

  • this is good ! i'm guessing this is your interpretation of the song so i'm not gonna be like ASDKJGASDFASDF LOL YOU GOT LOL THE LOL SECOND PART WRONGGGGGGGZ LOL !!!!1111!!1

overall it's a helluva good video, and youre a good teacher !

  • merci beaucoup pour cette description c bien expliquer thank you

  • what's the dog's name?

  • lucy

  • my dog's name was lucy.

    =]

  • hey can you give the part 1 aigin please?

i searched for that but i cant find it

you the real best teacher for the andy mckee music style greetz from germany

  • thanks alot, this made it very clear for me.

    you're a very good teacher :D

  • Yay thankyou!

For ages I was trying to work out what Andy was doing with his right hand after every open G string, I didnt realise he was just adding another tap, seems so obvious now but it wasnt at the time!!

Now I can learn the rest without worrying about it! :)

The self indulgent people are the ones that don't teach.

  • Abit self indulgent to do a tutorial on a song you never wrote isnt it? especially considering ur version is hardly flawless.

  • No I don't think so, It's a very popular song, there was no tutorial for it, so I interpreded my own. I also have mentioned that I didn't use tabs, so of course it would have flaws. If people wanted that real deal Andy Mckee "drifting tutorial" then their going to have to wait till Andy does it himself, which probably will never happen.

  • Very good tutioral . . thanks for the post man! Helped me alot!

  • nice hair dude..punk rulz..

  • Where is the first part? :S I can't find it... :s

  • dude you look like one of the mannings!

  • your the 2nd person to tell me that, I don't see the resemblence

  • idk? you just kinda look and sound like them

Have to learn the Introduction first

    thx

  • great, thanks heaps, this was a great help

  • hey thank you for that. i do not understand why some guys post negative comments and so on, think its great you want to help learning this tough song.

  • thks g5 for this great tutorial /accurate helpful really cool /Abt yr haircut : cool keep it I got punk spikes for 10 years...I know how square people r . but we're not lik'em r we?

  • Hi, I see that you removed the first video of this ones....I don't care what the people say, you whant to have that hair cut? then have it....

When are you going to upload the first part again?? thanks....great videos

  • hey you've left me some comments that were nice and some that weren't, however you will not be leaving me anymore because....your blocked bitch!!!!!!!!!! so I laugh last.

  • lol.

  • Thank you SO MUCH for posting this, u are a god :)

  • wow, you've made this really easier to play. good job man.

  • I removed it because I got alot of negative feedback. I'm going to try to put up another one, but I have to borrow a camera to do it.

  • When you are playing in the end, you are kinda off balance. Just saying, but this is very nice though.

  • if he combed his hair to a part he'd look like peyton manning

  • not so sure about that. But thanks for watching

  • havent you noticed thats its harder to play it without slapping the guitar with your left hand?...it makes you lose rhythm

  • Is this a dorm?

  • no it's in my apt.

  • Hey, love your explanation. Where is your first tuturial?

  • had some negative feedback and it was completely right, I just haven't had a chance to make another one.

  • o and thanks a lot dude!

  • thnx alot dude for poasting!!thnx

but i hv to say RAFY is amazing,,thats a better video

  • i just wanna say that even though i have played guitar for years, i have never played this style. when i started learning it i almost gave up hope. now im finally starting to get it. if your trying to learn this, keep at it. you will get it

  • ooops

    type error

    the question was

how long did it take u to learn this song?

    srry.....

  • it took me about 2 months of straight playing this song to get it about half way down. I can finally play it pretty smoothly now after about 4 months. But I've been playing guitar for 7 years. Stick with it.

  • -sigh-

it is too hard for me

    ummm...

how did it take u to learn this song?

i got introduction but even part 2 is hard to play both hands together.....

  • thats really good but you explain very fast I dont understand how to doo¡¡¡¡¡¡¡:(

  • sorry it's so fast, my camera will only let me record for 5 minutes.

  • good work dude.

  • cool dog :)

  • on the bigging i do first G 11 and than A, D

thats better than fist D and than A

  • Hiya. ARe you playing a Washburn Rarewood Acoustic Flinthills? I got the Ovangol model. Great Guitar!!!

  • yeah I love it

  • I love to see it, why don't you put up a song? Is it a taylor, martin or stonebridge?

  • would you email me these vids so i can save them on my laptop and practice without going online? id really appreciate. thanks for taking the time to teach us all this masterpiece

  • Looking forward to a new "part 1" wonder what kinda haircut you're gonna have this time, Lol...thanks for the help on the song!

  • but you have helped me a lot! thanks

  • godd job but the beginning is not right! andy is playing it only in the second mmh "part of the guitar" (i don't know the word)

  • nice job teaching! u r great!

how did you tune your guitar?

  • the song is played in a drop d suspended tuning. From lowest pitch to highest it's tuned as DADGAD vs normal standard tuning which is EADGBE, so both E are dropped to D's and the B is dropped down to an A.

  • where is viedo number 1???? thanks for the classes!!

  • I had a lot of negative responses so I took it down. I'm going to put up another one soon, but check out part 5 for a little piece of how to play it. Thanks

  • where's video number 1???

  • u look mutch better with hair dude!

  • yeah i know. thanks for listening
