It was on in my area (the Tri-Valley in CA) on a PBS station at around 7:30 am or so (it might have been KICU TV36). Before it started, it would say, "The Adventures of The Little Prince is made possible by charitable donations like yours for excellence in family broadcasting on this and other PBS stations."

I first discovered this on TV by accident in the fall of 1983 just after I'd turned 15.

I had been given the book by my grandmother three years earlier, and it instantly became a regular Saturday morning ritual for me. I was like, "WOW! They really did him justice!" :)

I'm pretty sure this was on Nickelodeon when I was a kid.

I recently read the book with my daughter and then we watched the movie. Good quality time with the kids.

@ashchooko Same here course I was 8 years old when I seen this show brings back alot of memories!,I remember my step mom would wake me up at 6:00am for freakin school to get ready so I watch this show till 6:40am then head out to to waite for the bus after this show ends...God i hated waken up at asscrack of dawn for school been doin that till I fucking graduated in 1998 lol now I wake up at 3.00am for freakin work it never ends LMAO!.

@Nickrj3 I used to watch pbs and yes I would have watched it everyday as a kid. Don't even think for a second that this show lacked anything as far as a kids show, I'm 26 now and I still love this show. First time I watched this show I was sick staying home from school. To a kid who wants to do what ever he wants and is too sick to do anything it means the world. You have no idea the feeling this movie inspired for me as a kid and still does today. I still cry everytime he leaves the rose.

I gotta say, this is the first book that really captures my imaginations while reading :) such an wonderful books, I recommend everyone from any types of ages to read this masterpiece :D I'll never forget this marvel book :) and RIP Antoine de Saint Exupery! thank you for your wonder books! :)

Incidentally the character designs for this anime were done by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko - who also did the designs for Mobile Suit Gundam a year later (Little Prince first aired in Japan in 1978).

Man, I lived in Upper Black Eddy, PA and used to sit there a half hour early Saturday mornings trying to get the rabbit ears antenna to pick this up on Channel 7 New York.

This was the FIRST thing I thought of when I saw King Kai's planet on Dragonball Z and again when seeing th e little prince (LOL) and his planet in the game Katamari Damacy.
