  • ughhhhh why did we have this guy for our leader. our party is finished now. he was soooo incompetant

  • The man at 2:45 sounds like a story teller.

  • Amazing answer. The filthy bitch doesn't get her way.

  • Doesn't matter now the liberals got the lowest vote count against the ndp and tories. Why is Ignateiff going to do now.

  • @z24baller He is going to become a proffesor at a uni

  • @snowboarder1019 God help those students.

  • @z24baller trololololol

  • This person looks vaguely familiar. Who was he again?

  • He sure ate those words.

  • That asshole is going to teach politics? Holy fuck! That is like Hitler giving etiquette lessons. To me, this whole idea of a "high level" education making you better at something seems silly. Ignatieff was educated at U of T, Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge. Yet, he couldn't talk his way out of a wet paper bag. He had no idea on how to communicate with people and had about as much charm as a bad case of hemroids.

  • Ignatieff makes Stephane Dion look like a capable leader. What a clown. Totally misread the electorate, took bad advice, and appears to have the personality and appeal of a sweaty history professor. Harper taking on this guy is like Mike Tyson taking on Jim Carrey.

  • Ignatieff you arrogant clown! You foolishly thought you could walk in here, disrupt and take over our government. You failed! Looks good on you and the dirty arrogant Liberals. Now get lost and don't come back!

  • His campaign manager needs to tell him to stop smiling....

  • I'll be so happy to see most of these arrogant liberal idiots lose their seats .

  • " And I'm a democratic politician right from the bottom of my feet to the top of my toes.."

Does that mean that his feet are the only parts of him that are a democratic politician.? Everything from the top of his toes up is complete bullshit.

The Liberals made a terrible mistake betting on Iggy to become Prime Minister. First Stephan Dion and now Ignatieff. To top it off Iggy invites former PM Jean Cretien out on the campaign trail to remind Canadians what a Liberal thug looks like.Ho ho ho

  • "Dodged that shit like the Matrix" - Dave Chappelle

  • Coalition doesn't matter anyway because the way things are going, NDP will be the larger opposition party.

  • ignatieff might not just be "in it for himself", but "into himself" just a little too much -- what is that creepy "mime" gesture that he performs at 1:54 ? -- yikes -- get a room, iggy, if you want to caress yourself like that -- you're supposed to be looking for love from the electorate; not yourself!

  • he IS answering the question! the reporters are getting sassy and you're hearing it and assuming its the intelligent response. right before the vote, WHY would any politician entertain plans and discussions for what to do if they don't win. giving potential voters a way out of guilt or responsibility if they don't vote or vote under pressure is a bad idea and he knows it.

  • Comment removed

  • @mirmanly he didn't answer the question, it is a yes or no answer and he didn't answer the question, all he says is he has answered the question in the past, so answer it again to refresh us, this guy is a moron

  • @mirmanly

Heaven forbid the reporters get 'sassy' and do their job. The reporters did exactly what they should have done and what more reporters should do. They worked together to get an answer to a tough question rather than seperately to get answers to the soft ball questions that the would-be PM wants them to ask. A lot of the people who would normally vote Liberal are going to vote Conservative because of the threat of a coalition. A lot of die hard Liberals just won't vote.

  • damn what a rat! answer the fucking questions you coward!

  • Clearly he wants Liberals to win the election. Due to that fact, he's bashing all of the other parties. However if he does not win then I feel like he might just go for coalition. But for the sake of winning the election he's bashing all other parties. If he straight up says coalition government it seems like he's not confident in his party. Even though he seems like a sneaky politician here so you decide what's worse.

  • This video says it all!

  • @jayman1011975 Who wants a conservative majority? Wtf? You really want all your money spent on the big companies and on mega-prisons we don't need? Conservatives suck at the economy... they really do. The only reason Canada is still OK during the crisis is the previous Liberal governments who managed the banks! Harper wanted that our canadian banks change their policies to be just like the american banks. Then we would be neck deep in the shit! On may 2 vote Liberal if you want your Canada back

  • @Sapardi too bad mr. S..

Canada is in great danger should any of the liberal and ndp win..horrors..the Conservatives government brought us through the crash and did very well..do your homework..do you want socialism..go live in those countries that have socialism..most of them have big time troubles..you want to be handed everything on a silver platter..the last liberal government almost wrecked our military..we need the military..who pays you your wages..who are you in the imploy of..

  • @ultralinem The conservatives didn't bring us through the crash by themselves friend. We are fine because the banks were managed. Guess who wanted to modify the bank systems to make them just like the american banks? Harper while in the opposition. Then we'd be in deep shit. Plus, I am in the employement of law cabinet in Montreal. I don't want anything to be handed to me, I already can reach for most of the thins I want myself. But some people need help from the government not motor-less planes

  • funny how he calls harper down for dodging questions and for not standing up for democracy but this video shows how much he stands for democracy, he plans to create a coalition if he loses and right now he is telling people they can't vote for the other 3 parties

  • No one gives a shit if he's a politician right down to the bone, although that just means he's a bastard.

  • The correct response would be "Fuck yes we would." Coalition ftw

  • Comment removed

  • Yay, democracy.

  • This guy is a total moron and its scary that he is running for prime minister!!

  • How can you trust a guy who dodges questions with stupid answers, Canadians aren't dumb, they will see right through this act.

  • hahahahah - ignatieff - go back to harvard..oh wait you went there? Doesn't appear to be that way!

  • Comment removed

  • Why can't we try talking about POLICY? IDEAS?

  • So he's "a democratic politician to the bottom of [his] feet and the top of [his] toes"?

.. meaning he's one inch democratic??

    Bahahah

  • So he's "a democratic politician to the bottom of [his] feet and the top of [his] toes"?

.. meaning he's one inch democratic??

    Bahahah

  • Wow this guy is a fucking douche, id rather vote for a 18 year old

  • "on the abstract constitutional principle"....what a douche.

  • It is funny he just couldn't spit out the two words "No Coalition". I think its funny the when he proclaims he can't be any clearer I just get more confused.

  • Is this Real???

  • @DLaw14

    No, it's dubbed.

Ignatieff actually said, " Wassup, canucks? Why you be gettin' down on me wit' that there co-a-lition busy-ness? It's as plain as the foot in my mouth that my only 'ition' is am-bition , you poutine lovin', maple syrup guzzlin', canadian beer chuggin' fools. A vote for me is a vote for me gettin' paid. When's lunch ? You're paying."

  • Iggy is an idiot. I rather die than cast a vote for him.

  • IGGY will be SITTINg in the PMO and the HARPER CABAL will be AWAITING TRIALS on CONTEMPT and ELECTION FRAUD .

The CANADIAN PEOPLE are NOT AS STUPID as the CONS like to Portray. It'll Take More than 5years of CON PROPAGANDA to DUMB DOWN the MAJORITY of CANADIANS to the LEVEL of the CONBOTS,who have been PROGRAMED since Birth or is that "Born AGAIN' LMAO

  • he answered the question... he said vote for the liberals, very simple

  • @naturalpredator01

it is a very simple question...except they didn't ask him who canadians should vote for.

  • @gauguintop true, but he is answering their question of will he form a coalition gov if he loses. He said if you vote for the other left wing options that we will have another harper government. There you go, no coalition... more harper. Clear enough to me

  • Thank you Mr. Iggy, You sir are a clown!

  • Ignatieff please go back to America

  • Canadians have a choice of choosing a douche bag or turd sandwich

  • What a shit eating grin he has. How can anyone vote for this piece of shit, just answer the bloody question. It's obvious that a coalition is planned.

  • ughh so frustrating.

I like Ignatieff, but this politics garbage makes me less enthused about voting in general. Everyone in Canadian politics is so afraid to give a straight answer, and its all I want to hear.

  • May be Ignatieff should learn something from Harper and other right wing thugs, take questions only from "friendly media".

  • Wow, 3, 409 views on his "your family, your liberals" and not one comment is allowed.

    That's our Liberals...control.

  • I guess they didn't teach answering press questions at Harvard.

  • The three of you jack-offs in a coalition couldn't make even one Prime Minister.

  • Ha Ha Ha! What a fucking schmuck! His ace up his sleve is showing, and we all saw it...I can't be clearer than that!

  • @ErectionCanada lolllll good dog!!!

  • I hope he doesn't become prime minister

  • vincevince801 Oh yeah tear every jail down and let all the criminals run wild fucknut

  • 277.8 million 270 million 300 million(expected) is the amount of elections money spent in 4 years. Harper bought the F 35s to protect the north incase you didn't hear the Russians planted a flag on our land. You disgust me if you vote for an American in Canada

  • A coalition government is fine. A coalition government that ignores the party with the most seats, however, is about as retarded as Ignatieff's "answer" to the question.

  • Reasons not to vote conservative..

    Election fraud.

    Billions for Jets.

    Jails for every one.

    Forgery.

Billions for a two day photo op (G20)

    Power hungry dictator.

  • A smart man who is not a politician getting bad coaching on how to skirt a question. There are a lot of smart, capable people on parliament hill - Harper included - who could do a lot for Canada if they weren't locked in an interminable struggle to gain power.

  • Terry milewski kicked ass in the interview....wtg Terry.

Ignatieff is no astute political entity by any means.

I plan to vote CPC this time.

  • And people want to vote for this guy? At least the Conservatives can answer questions directly!

  • No party in Canada, deserves a majority. At this point, a coalition would be just fine and it would likely last a few years and we might even get some domestic help, instead of blindly following a globalist agenda. There is a bad smell coming from the Conservative caucus and it is time to take out the garbage.

  • it doesn't matter if the green party platform is awful, Im tired of dealing with these terrible parties. Just put someone who hasn't been in Parliament in there for once

  • i hope ppl voting for him realize he said he's only a politician from the bottom of his feet to the top of his toes, 1:55. He doesnt have his stuff together even though he did go to Harvard, or whatever he did to think his shit dont stink

  • i hope ppl voting for him realize he said he's only a politician from the bottom of his feet to the top of his toes, 1:55. He doesnt have his stuff together even though he did go to Harvard, or whatever he did to think his shit dont stink

  • I would rather have a coalition (which is a valid option) than to go through anymore time with Harper and the Conservatives. I honestly would rather vote for none of the above if I had the choice. F-35's really? Contempt for Parliament, Prisons for all! Commanding the Libya mission(aiding "rebels" without looking into who the rebels are)

67 tribes in Libya, yeah remove Gaddhafi and they will all get along..

  • @ScottishViking1977 The F-35s are to be the new NATO fighting plane, it makes perfect sense to buy them.

  • @SlaughterMeister,

How much are they going to cost again? Oh yeah I forgot, Harper thinks he doesn't have to tell us.

    lol at your rationale

  • and if you Vote for the Liberals Ignatieff already stated he will raise peoples taxes by 30-35 per cent, The Liberals want to ban civilian ownership of firearms-especially handguns (which are used legally for sport/target shooting and competitive sport shooting and even in the olympics ! .) ..So when any political party attempts to dictate my rights to own somthing - thats one party that will "NEVER" get my vote in my lifetime. ...Conservative majority please..and Iggy can move back to the U.S.

  • @DaSperminatorRob

    lolwhut

Can't distinguish between this talking point & Republican talking point.

    Are you fucking retarded?

  • @YoungSpotUBrock - No I base my arguments on facts...so whats your excuse ?

  • @YoungSpotUBrock - Not at all - Fact : Both Ignetieff and Layton stated publicly if elected they will outright ban handguns in Canada. Now if that isnt a slap in the face to the Constitutional Rights of Firearm owners in Canada ...I dont know what is. You should really get your "facts" straight before you start calling people retarded solely based on your liberal emotionalism.

  • iggy is a fucking retard

  • Goddamn, what is this shit??

  • We should unite the left, conservatives would never get to power if we do that. Harper has been acting like a power hungry dictator for the last few years. Its time for change.

  • WHy do people play this political game? If everyone would just ignore the politicos they would go away, wouldn't they?

  • lol this guy cant even straight up directly answer a question... why would anyone vote for somebody who likes to beat around the bush?

  • @dorood

    everyone beats the bush

    Iggy just is more cooler.

  • a country such as canada can not be run by numerous leaders, as any major country in the world. If a government like that is in power, too many people deciding means nothing will get done, and too much time will be spent tryin to please this coalition governemnt's individual intersts when the focus should be on the canada's well being

  • Do Not Vote NDP

    Do Not Vote Liberial

    Do Not Vote Conservative

They have all shown to be incapable of governing Canada

It's time for a new party, I will be voting Green. Why aren't you?

  • @Maxwilso do u know anything about the greens platform? its awful, but i agree about new party

  • @brandonpringle16 He is probably just a guy who smokes weed.

  • @Maxwilso why would I?

  • I don't know anything about politics, but I know a slimy bastard when I see one.

  • @ThePsychoReturns Let's be honest here, all the party leaders are slimy bastards.

  • @what77777 As far as I can tell, you're right about that.

  • As longs as the masters decided to remain on this land (Canada), you would have a bread to eat.

    Conservative + Liberal = Rothschilds's coins

Rothschilds are the real owners of America & Canada.

  • @greatfile So true. The best I can hope for is another minority government. So far that's what has kept Harper from selling us out to the CFR.

It seems like these guys get in front of D. Rockafeller and get glitter in their eyes, thinking his corprocratic ideas are best for us.

I'll vote either for an independent or a small party like Greens.

  • Bottom of his feet to the top of his toes. WHAT!?!?! If George Bush had said that he would be the laughing stock for the rest of the decade. HOW could someone EVER choose Count Iggy to lead their country. I would rather Casey or Finnegan do it.

  • LOL. Iggy is really in between a rock and a hard place. He knows he won't even get a minority... and he would LOVE a coalition but now he has been pressured into saying he doesn't want one. Now when the Conservatives get their minority we'll see if he will completely do a 180 and say he wants a coalition (which would make him/Liberal party look like complete hypocrites) or will he be happy being in the same situation as the last few years.

  • voted conservative last time and I might again if it's not clear by the time i'm voting.

I like what harper's done in the sense that I can type these words freely.

other then that I don't really care who is in power as long as they know how to handle Canada.

  • Ignatief: "I am a Democrat." = "I am American". O.K., go join that hapless Obama team.

  • Check out my Jack Layton

    song

  • I realize that apparently all the conservative government can do is make Machiavellian attack ads..just pick on something thats actually scary! Like the "foreigner" ads...he has is a foreigner..he has foreign experience (ewwww!)

  • Still dont see how the coalition is illegal :(. Happens in every other perfectly successful commonwealth democracies. If I vote for a Liberal I am indirectly endorsing their actions, if they think they can do more with my vote if they join up with the NDP, I am okay with that. If I don't like that result, I just won't vote for them next time, still perfectly democratic.

  • If you knew anything about politics you'd know that Harper asked the Bloc and NDP for a coalition two parliament's ago...

  • Comment removed

  • I thought Harper was a little out of line when he said Ignatieff would form a coalition if the conservatives got a minority...but its looks more probable that he's right, judging from ignatieff's responses.

  • @radscorpion8 .. and you don't think Harper would form a coalition with the Bolc-NDP if this election is as indecisive as the previous three?

There is nothing surprising in Iggy's comments. His goal is to win a MAJORITY. Any discussion of a coalition is premature until we know the outcome of the election.

Harper's answer to the question would be more telling because he would outright lie & say "no coalition", yet he knows he'd form one if asked to do so after defeating a Liberal minority gov.

  • Greasy.

    Very greasy.

Lives outside of the country for 34 years, pays no taxes, contributes zilch to our health care system or CPP, then, on a whim, is recruited by the bankrupt LPC to be installed as PM.

    He's an egotistical elitist flake.

  • @raynus1 He also said he was a poor Russian Immigrant who pulled himself up by his own bootstraps. HE'S A RUSSIAN COUNT, and apparently a liar too!

  • @arbisea: Exactly. His grandmother was a russian princess, his grandfather a russian count, an advisor to Nicholas II. Real working-class proletariat types to be sure.

I highly doubt he's ever had to pull himself up with anything, other than a silver spoon.

  • Ignatieff just cost the Canadian taxpayers 800 million on an election. Go back to America.

  • @MultiJiles .. actually it will be much closer to 300M$ ..

  • It's a done deal. PC majority is a lock now.

  • Political suicide at its finest.. well done, Iggy. :)

  • This man is so sleazy!!!!

  • Chrysler's new SUV inspired by Michael Ignatieff: the Dodge Question

  • @awguy Hilarious!!!!

  • "Let me Be Very Clear" LOL!

  • I do not want to see ignatieff as prime minister

  • Iggy what are you doing?! Say yes or no you bastard! If you're considering a coalition then go balls out! Don't pussyfoot around the whole thing! It's either yes or no.

    He's done. What a schmuck.

Minority Conservative government. Thanks a lot Ignatieff.

  • He's a democratic politician from the bottom of his feet to the top of his toes?

    That's not very much.

  • @SlaughterMeister Ha!! that's the only truth coming out of his mouth!!

  • Have you ever watched his eyebrows? It's like they are alive like caterpillars...it's really distracting.

  • A coalition is legitimate but not one giving separatists control. The bloc tried to extort 2.5 billion to approve the budget - imagine what they would expect to prop-up Iggy.

  • @scob63 Actually it is a myth that our Parliament is supposed to allow separatist parties. While it is true that a coalition party is a legitimate for of government, which I totally agree with. A federal political party should run candidates in all ridings across Canada and the Bloc doesn't do that. Elections Canada shouldn't even allow their name to be put on the ballot.

  • wow he cant answer a single question straight can he ? lol

  • He is such an arrogant prick

He'll be going back to the US with his tail between his legs

  • He is such an ignorant prick

  • 4 words that terrify me: Finance minister Bob Rae! A lib government would be a nightmare. Just look at how bad Greece's economy is and imagine it happening here because of liberal corruption and over-taxation. No thanks. I'd rather have a majority conservative government. This election is gonna be about working Canadians trying to protect their financial future. The other group will be leftists trying to protect their entitlements that are paid for with the taxes from said working Canadians!

  • MAY BE if the LAPDOG HACKS WOULD Care MORE about EL PORKO's CONtempt than the DUMB DOWN Fucking Questions to make the STUPID Fuckers that are the HARPO CULT HAPPY ,CANADIANS would Kick these FACISTS PIGS back to the TAR PITS of ALBERTA.

The "FREE PRESS" More DENUTTED LAPDOGS EVERY DAY. HANG These TRAITORS POODLES along side EL PORKO's CABAL.

  • Vote for Count Dracula?

  • Oh man, that was terrible, he's screwed!

  • Ask Mr. Harper why we have a signed letter with his name on it proposing a coalition with the same seperatists and socialists from 2004???

  • Comment removed

  • Answer the question Iggy!

  • I think against the bulwark of the BQ block in the house, the Conservatives will finally form a majority. Canadians are fed up with minority government and the way the house has fallen to acrimony, political gamesmanship, and misplaced offense.

If Iggy says yes to coalition before the elections, anti-coalition voters will run to the Cons. If he says no, then the strategic Liberal voters who want power, will realize that futility and run for the hills.

  • To all those defending coalition by citing Cameron's coalition in the UK; Cameron's Tories won the election. He formed a coalition with the Liberal Democrats to secure a majority in the house because MINORITY governments are not the tradition in the UK. A coalition of the losing parties of a general election would be nothing short of a Parliamentary travesty and an insult to the Canadian people.

  • Hahaha..Just a taste of what's ahead for Iggy. He seems like he has a temper as well.

  • I almost yakked when he started petting himself and said: "I'm a Democrat... democratic politician right down to the bottom of my feet and the top of my toes." I seriously puked a little bit in my mouth.

  • More frightening than any particular beliefs or policies is an utter lack of any sense of a need to test those beliefs and policies against hard evidence. Mistakes can be corrected by those who pay attention to facts but dogmatism will not be corrected by those who are wedded to a vision.

    Thomas Sowell

  • A coalition of losers has never been sworn in as Government of Canada, ever.

Why can't Iggy say that's his plan?

  • Thanks Iggy for such a "clear" response.. Conservative it is!

  • This wasn't very clear to me....complete run-around. Definitely feel he will form a coalition.

  • A real politician leaves themselves open to many options. He would prefer a Liberal majority, but only a fool would turn down a coalition. It works in the UK and New Zealand and it will work for us.

  • The party with the most seats forms a minority government--not a coalition. That is our political tradition, with the exception of one coalition back in the 1930s. If the parties are proposing a change in our country's political customs, then they should be very up front and transparent about it. Being non-committal or sitting on the fence until the election is over smacks of naked opportunism and a shady power grab.

  • I was wrong above on the 1930s coalition. I confused it with the 1917 case. Sorry about the confusion on this fact.

  • Is the option Conservative vs. Liberal or Conservative vs. Liberal-NDP-Bloc? We should know this going into the campaign.

We aren't Italy or Israel. Coalition governments are not a part of our political tradition, and it is dishonest to rely on technicalities in the law to form coalitions when it is not presented as an option during the election campaign.

The same clarity should have been present in the UK election as well.

  • @AnalyticalChemist Well, after watching him evade that question 4 times in the span of a minute we all know the answer to that. A vote for any of the useless opposition parties is a vote for coalition.

  • @AnalyticalChemist

You are woefully ignorant of our democratic system. ANYONE who has ever thought coalition governments are not part of the political process in Canada are ignorant of our system.

Any country which has more than 2 federal political parties represented in numbers in a national assembly can/will observe coalition governments from time to time. It is the nature of multi-party democracies.

Coalitions are always an option (they are not the goal). A majority is the goal.

  • @MelioraCogito

Name the numerous federal coalition governments that we have had in Canada. With the questionable exception of 1917, I have heard of none. Minority governments, which rely on constant horse-trading and agreements on issues as they come up, are not coalition governments.

Secondly, why are you calling me names and using words with all caps? Are you not an adult?

  • @AnalyticalChemist Coalitions are too part of the Canadian system. Its like G. Washington said about political parties destroying the US system.

We vote for our MPs. Why do they go to Ottawa and vote the party line even when it hurts us, their constituents? The balance of power could vary back and forth on every issue if needed, and that's representation!

And thats why I vote independent. They are the only MPs who actually do what their voters want.

  • @Rhal95

There are pros and cons to party discipline. For one thing, it limits horse trading compared to systems where party discipline is weaker or even absent, such as the United States. The downside, of course, is that it limits the ability of a backbencher MP to represent his or her riding's interests. Still, I personally prefer this to the greater corruption seen in the US Congress and Senate, where the average representative tends to have more power (beyond the greater money and pop.).

  • @AnalyticalChemist

    Right...

  • @AnalyticalChemist

hey c'mon the UK's coalition has done great work...look at the people cheering in the news.

  • @00Billy

Not quite the same thing. The Conservatives in the UK were still elected with the largest number of seats. The coalition there also did not include a party dedicated to the breakup of the UK. I still think it improper to form a coalition without informing the electorate at the start or before the election. It reeks of shady under the table dealings.

  • @AnalyticalChemist

poor joke about the riots in London I know...sry...

I get Irate when we are sent to the polls on one question and then a day after we get no vote on a coalition.....I agree...

Ever wonder what parliament would be like with 308 independents?

    I do.

  • Nothing is 'wrong' with a coalition government, it's that Canadians do not want one. Canadians know that our economic recovery is priority #1 and that the Conservative's policies have been doing an amazing job in terms of our bringing our country out of the recession nearly unscathed. Electing this coalition and thus, this joke of a leader, would jeopardize all that has been gained. And because Canadians know this, I'm 99% sure you will see another minority gov if not a majority.

  • @Username646464 Actually, I have a very large problem with a Coalition of opposition parties because it includes the Bloc. A party whose constitution pertains to the break-up of the country.
