  • This isn't the first rap as far back as I can think of. "Pournami neram paavai orutthi minnal polae munnal sendral...." song (not sure which movie though) with Chandrasekar and Rajiv is a far more older rap than this one.

  • @deepanrj08 you better go to a few more of those ESL classes you goof, Just because I like bhangra doesn't mean i have to be indian, urdu, paki, whatever.

  • lol I dont understand the language,,,but its like hes gonna rape her in the meadow...creepy smile, dancing around trees...

  • @ruairi15 if u not understand means u just shut ur smelled asshole u motherfucker

  • the picture name is vickram, an it was not a rap song, but the movie was a bit like moden movie in the 80s. & the song was a fast song for llayaraja.

  • not only that ...in the first bgm plz notice that when the bullet is missing itz brought into music..i dont know whether any composer can do that...it happens in the beginning also

  • Absolutely amazing guy

  • Definitely now RAP but Illayaraja has done a super fast track music and I love it. Thanks for title that generates curiosity.

  • Its not SPB but Kamal himself who speaks in the beginning of the song

  • nice songs

  • mind ur language u man. get out from her if u dont like it

  • is this rap u jack ass

  • @prabhudion You must be to the level of Ilayaraja to comment on him. Do you know the meaning of RAP by any means? RAP is an abbreviation of Rapid Action Poem. Which literally means to put rhymes in faster phase. And Ilayaraja has proven by supporting the song with metronome in BG.

  • hi it is really totally waste......

  • @vijaynsh like you ?

  • Idhu rappa???????? enna koduma saravanan!!!

  • For the people complaining that this is not rap , you are right , I won't blame you because you are exposed to some verbal diarrhea in front of the mic from singers these days.

If I was the Tamil Comedian Vivek, I'd be tempted to joke by saying - " intha kaalathula paadarathu peru rap illa , R**e " : you know the rest !!

  • "anaithavan yenakulle kullithavan" wow

  • Kamal's voice suits the one (song, rap or w/e its) well.

  • one more Rap bit from Rajathiraja (1989) by IR in the song - Malayala Karai Oram (silu silu vena kulir adikuthu adikuthu... bit)

  • I love this song. The tempo and SPB's pepped up song and ability to retain the melody and mood of the song. No words to describe. Amazing song. Song carries melody and suspense at the same time. Awesome composition.

  • this isnt a rap! :O i think you are referring the first stanza!! it wasnt rap for god sake!!

  • I would not label this as a rap song because the song is too melodic and the rap verses are too short. The intro is a very short introduction to rap music. It is a nice song.

  • A rap bit with clock tick(for the suspense to start with), superb guitar background through out, amazing Violin + Flute counterpoint at 2:28 to 2:36 that would make any WCM composer proud, poly-rhythm percussions.

And everything in a "jolly" song that we take it for granted.Raja is the man!

  • rap??okie...nice also la...have u peepz heard msian rap?? they cn make ur ears bleed....some r total wreck some r really really super raps...try to hear mista g stylomanavan yogi b mc jesz...n alot more...our foremost rap guru would be darkey...he cn make u forget ur tamil...!!hehe...i like all illayaraja songs...!!

  • haha..@kalai265 im agreeing with you..especialy the darkey part...who can forget is pulle pulle in that arakana song..hahaha..gives me the creeps.

  • Love the bit where the gun man in the start of the video hits the tree in frustration is perfect movement to the rhythm of the song

  • I always thought 'Pettai Rap' from Kaadhalan was the first Tamil cinema rap

  • @sonofthedestroyer i too used to think the same, but apparently not!! I fell in love with AR almost a decade back, but i am now falling for IR knowing his genius....

  • @Vd12A

    You prefer IR?

I dont much about him. I was born in the 1980s.

What you think is the difference?

  • I was born in 1987 too boss, and grew up listening to AR songs... now when i listen to IR songs, I am just drawn to him so much.... he has a different and distinct sense of melody.... i am not trying to belittle AR's achievenments

  • LOL

  • I really love the piece starting at 2:18

look how the visuals sync with the music , amazing!!!

  • Hey what a transition from Kamal Sir voice to SPB ! Bloody brilliant , makes you appreciate SPB even more.

And yeah this rap bit is very similar to Sandhu Pottu :)

  • Aandavar kitta dance aada kathukkongada...stepsu stepsu...

  • this is from the movie vikram

  • The seamless transition from Kamal's voice to SPBs is just awesome. SPB is too good in rendering voices per actor!

  • Great video, the cinematography starting at 2:18 is amazingly shot.

  • in the same movie theres real true blue rap in VIKRAM title song.I think thiss Indias first ever rap/hiphop

  • This one was used in Telugu movie 'Ladies Tailor' by Raja again.

  • this is some abstract hip hop !!! that's hot

  • haha...another bit is in the 'saandhu pottu' song from devar magan
