@awesome399 We humans have no natural enemies, which means we are at the top of the food chain, so why shouldn't we eat meat?
If you want be a vegan and/or vegetarian then more power to you, but stop trying to force you're beliefs down my throat. Isn't it bad enough that you virtually ruined the veal industry?
@FuckinBowDown1 The way we treat animals to turn them into food cannot be justified. The veal industry and many other similar industries are sources of incomprehensible amounts of gratuitous suffering in the world. Those of us who have alternative sources of nutrition should not impose this suffering on other sentient beings. In my opinion, as humans continue to evolve morally and think ethically about the consequences of their actions more and more we shall see a trend towards vegetarianism.
@awesome399 Sooo. . . .Does that mean we should stop bears from eating meat? After all they are built more like an herbavore (that's not how you spell that is it? . . Aw well)
Should we stop monkeys from eating other monkeys? Why not? They seem to have both a culture and a sense of morality.
You know there are alot of HUMANS suffering in the world - remember - Why don't you focus on them instead of shoving your no meat beliefs down my meat-clogged throat.
@FuckinBowDown1 In answer to your questions no. Humans have a much more sophisticated sense of morality than other animals and that's why they can make a choice that tries to minimise suffering e.g. not eating animals and supporting their suffering in factory farms. And I never said there weren't alot of humans suffering in the world and I try to make choices to stop that also. Humans are obviously capable of dcaring both about humans and non-human animals it isn't one or the other.
@awesome399 You're right - Humans are much more sophisticated than any animal. That's why we're at the top of the food chain.
We spent millions of years fighting our asses off to get there and now that we are, why then, should we eat tomatos and tofu?
Think about it - If you take a lion out of the wild then you fuck up an entire ecosystem, right? If humans stop eating meat then it would be almost the exact same thing as removing a top predater from the wild except on a much grander scale.
@FuckinBowDown1 Our being on the top of the food chain doesn't provide justification for the torture of other sentient beings. It may for other animals with a less sophisticated sense of morality but it is precisely because of our morality that we cannot justify causing such suffering simply because we are on top of the food chain.
@FuckinBowDown1 Also the animals we eat don't come from an ecosystem they are bred in their 100s of millions in factory farms so it would be far from the 'exact same thing' as removing a lion from 'the wild'. The impression that the animals we exploit for food and other products being part of a happy ecosystem is perpetuated to try and keep many in the dark about the cruel realities of factory farming. Perhaps you are under this impression? But factory farms are very different to 'the wild'
@FuckinBowDown1 Fair enough. Hopefully I've provided you with a bit of food for thought (excuse the pun). Was good to here your thoughts and offer my responses to them. Have a good life :)
Why would you not stop on turkeys or shoot them out in the wild, but instead pay for someone else to do the dirty work for you? I understand that turkeys aren't the prettiest or most intelligent things on earth, but you have to admit that the creatures still have the capacity to suffer and experience comfort. If this fact alone keeps us (for the most part) from murdering people around us, no matter their IQ level or beauty, why the inconsistency when it comes to, for example, turkeys?
No wonder animal rights activists are so extreme. Hearing people like this give the realization of no hope or reason. This person in the video really believes in what he is saying all the while missing the the entire view of animal welfare advocates. Stopping animal exploitation may be hopeless, but doesn't concern the activists. We are machines, programmed to stay the course. In otherwords, it is hopeless to fight and try and stop us. Were something like cancer.
no prob man, i think your just reflecting tho, Lol and dude, my co host is brown, might wanna look in to your own issues, but hey i g2g, got a burger waitin for me. : )
ok at our county fair peta lets out the animals and cuts lil kid's bunnys out of their cage they dont know it but thats a death sentence to a pet rabbit they dont know how to survive in the wild and they have also let out a draft horse and thank god no one or the horse got hurt!!!
PETA is a bunch of hypocrits. When questioned why they were trying to claim a walk-in freezer as a tax deduction, they went on record admitting that they only adopted out 7 of the almost 2000 animals they took in last year was because it was CHEAPER to euthanize them than it was to care for and rehome them. This is an organization that would rather spend their money on ads like this than actually practice what they preach and treat animals ethically.
That is exactly why id didnt joined them. how can you believe that every animal has the right to live and than "euthanize" them? Look up the defentition. Euthanzise is just possible if the one who dies, agrees. did they asked the animals? I don't think so. I agree with a lot of PETAS statements, but that shocked me...
Why don't we just eat our pets? I'm sure our beloved dogs and cats would be delicious. Let's beat them to death, skin them, season them with some herbs, broil them, and smother them with a savory reduction of red wine, shallots, and our pets' rendered fat. It'll be SUPER delicious so that will TOTALLY justify it.
I actually ate my ex gf's dog and It was pretty damn tasty. and I also buy guinea pigs from pets mart and deep fry em you know why? because pets are no different from a cow or a chicken. So Hell yeah cook you're pets, who gives a fuck.
I was very scrawny when I was a little girl, and I ate lots of meat. My parents raised pigs, chickens, ducks, and geese. The neighbors had cows, so we were never short on meat of any kind. I eat almost no meat now and much healthier. 99.9% of the meat purchased in stores comes from factory farmers. It is sickening what happens to these animals during their life and horrifying what happens to them on their way to be slaughtered and up to being slaughtered.
@The101177 Then go free range. A new EU directive is going to be published which will ban factory farming, and instead provide incentives to switch to free range, and organic.
So dont get me wrong, everyone has the right to do what they want. Hell, I eat meat too! But Peta isn't telling any of us not to eat meat, they're just making us aware of what happens to them, It's you're choice to not follow it.
PS. I feel like you would step on a turkeys head...
Ya..totally agree this point, people have to suffer from the choices they make! Don't complain the green house and lots of disaster happened all the time even more than ever on earth.
Yeah, PETA is such a joke. Wasn't it earlier this year that they publicly critisized the president for swatting a fly? I'm not sure who they expect to take them seriously.
Message to vegans. Quit shoving your beliefs down our throats- Sincerely, Non-vegans.
