  • Um.. I found a hand gun from a swap meet and it plugs into my genesis. Its a standard handgun, not the justifier magnum. Idk if it works cuz i have no light gun type game for the sega genesis. if anyone knows anything about this I would appretiate some feedback. Thx.

  • The light in the gun is on, but the aiming ridicule stays in the top left part of the screen in T2. I have it plugged into the second port. I'm playing on older TVs, with VCRs and such. Any ideas?

  • @LeeMan00 This is very sensitive tech. You have to be within the distance required. Too close, and you won't be able to aim. I recommend 6-8 feet.

  • Hey, on 2:45 you put on a thing after you put the batteries in so the batteries don't fall out, but I bought a Menacer on eBay that doesn't have that thing and even though I put the binoculars mode on I don't get it to work. I think it's because the batteries won't stay in plays without that thing. How can I replace it or do you know an alternative?

  • @HaggisMcHaggisl337 The battery contact that allows the menacer to function is on that battery clip. You need the battery clip for it to function properly, or something that will hit both outside-facing battery contacts without creating a short circuit. Do not use a balled up piece of tin foil or you could rupture the batteries. I used to use a dime electrical taped in place after I broke mine. It worked *ALRIGHT* but not great. Every now and then it would slip out of place.

  • OLA AMIGO GOSTEI MUITO DO SEU VIDEO , MEU NOME É DIEGO EU SOU O MAIOR COLECIONADOR DE MEGA DRIVE DO BRASIL VEJA MEUS VIDEOS ....

  • This thing so strongly reminds me of the wii zapper it's not even funny XD

  • i think the menacer also works with leathal enforcers 2.. i dont have a menacer any more, only the justifier

  • @h2omadman The justifier should work for the menacer games too, right?

  • I love this guy's voice.

  • remove cat lol!!!!!!!

  • very similar to super scope!

  • This is why I love oldskool games, you won't be seeing cockroaches doing semi epic explosions after getting shot on any next gen console that's for sure

  • 9:20 toejam and earl baby!!!

  • lol the cats like, fine I didnt wanna be there anyway...HEY WHATS OVER THERE?

  • Thanks for making this video. I bought the gun and reciever at a Goodwill for .99 cents in 2000. I just found the game for 5.00 at a pinball and game show. I didnt know where the batteries went into the gun as the arm was hiding the battery clip. It works perfect after all these years!

  • my cat sits right in front of the tv when i'm trying to play video games too

  • Tanks a lot for this video!!! I have no instructions book, so that fuc* PORT 2 struggled me out to play this. Excelent video.

  • @fjrstube Thanks, brother. No problem.

  • Hey thanks man I just picked up a Menacer for 4 bucks today and your video really helped.

  • @ThatGuyARH Lol. No problem. =)

  • lol move cat from front of screen

  • Lol. Thank you for watching. =)

  • I had the exact same reaction.

And how awesome would that've been. =)

  • Hahaha, step three. Great tutorial, just ordered a Menacer-gun, the menacer game-cartridge, and some other genesis titles for about 50$.

  • Sounds like an awesome purchase. =)

  • Yeah! Christmas is saved!

  • Not sure if you knew this, but Ready, Aim, Tomatoes doesn't work properly on big televisions. I used to use the Menacer on a 50", and that game always had problems with the cursor disappearing and being non-responsive. However, I played it on my 27" TV and it had no problems at all. By the looks of it in your video, it looks like your TV was too big.

Just thought you should know that in case you didn't already know.

  • Sounds like good info. On my TV, it was more of a problem of being to close to it. It then worked like a charm when I was more than 6 feet away. Thank you for your comment. =)

  • i never knew that was made..guess every system back in the day had a gun :D,its pretty cool

  • Very cool, indeed. =)

  • Very nice review mate. Just not something done with a webcam and 15 min of deadtime.

Just got one from ebay for 7 Euro, with everything except the box. Good deal i think. Gonna be fun to try it out.

    Thx alot for the review!

  • Thank you. =)

That was a great deal on your part.

  • nice review... very informative, and up untill last month i didnt even know these existed! Guess i was too busy w/ the nes and snes to notice sega even had a gun peripheral back then...

  • Thank you. I believe it was made as a response to the Super Scope for the SNES. I'm glad you got something from it. =)

  • I had one of those back in the day, and I had no fun with that thing. I think that is honestly one piece of gaming memorabilia that I'm not that upset at missing now.

  • Lol. I hear you. I just love quirky gaming peripherals. It's one of my things. =)

  • ditto, i bought mine becasue of T2 the Arcade Game and because id enjoyed my mates Super Scope....i was VERY dissapointed :(

  • i love your cat! he/she is so cute! :D

  • Thanks dude. His name is Lloyd Alexander.

  • Wow it moves so smoothly around the screen! I remember seeing the Menacer in stores but never saw one in action. Looks pretty good does it have some problems? You said it was love or hate but is that because sometimes its finicky or doesn't work right? If it always works this well it is pretty amazing!

  • It's certainly not as accurate as other light guns... Well, accurate is not the right word, let's just say it wont work very close to the TV. A round, tube screen is also going to have you loose the cursor around the edges. But the gun does work very well. In essence, it's a different experience when you play with this one gun. I really wish you could see it in action. =)

  • holy freaking batteries! What an overdesigned... thing. I can't believe they didn't run with too many titles for this monstrosity, it seems such a waste looking back... and if I remember correctly this system's best competition at the time didn't have many gun peripherals, either...?

  • Indeed. The thing was more about design than practicality (and it debuted at $100 (which meant $200 if you wanted to play those 2-player shooters). That's kind of why I love it, it's such a quirky peripheral. =)

  • lol at step three

  • =)

    Thanks for watching.

  • Superb review, no other way of putting it, the gun looks so overdesigned but very cool all the same and the 6in1 cart was a great move by sega.

  • Thanks.

I agree. That's why I display it in full tilt, but play only it with the master module.

    I love these quirky peripherals =) .

  • "it only"

    Sorry. I got dyslexic there.

  • Yes indeed. I love everything ToeJam and Earl. =)

    Thanks dude.

BTW: I know, sorry about that. I wish I had a better way to record gameplay.

  • Did you know Sega was actually thinking of making Toejam and Earl they're mascot? Sega of Japan wasn't too happy about that though so, it was quickly abandoned. Also, there is a Toejam and Earl game for the Xbox. I'm sure you already knew this though :D

Great video! I loved the first half.
