  • There's something weird about watching body builders make snacks like these. Sure, it's for body building, but it still looks odd.

  • you are gonna love my nuts lol attaboy

  • Do you have to mix the bars with chocolate whey? or can you use other flavours? As i only have Berry and strawberry at the moment and have like 10kg or the stuff... Thank you

  • @MrEarly2k

Sure, you can use whatever flavor you like. It doesn't have to be chocolate.

  • I will make this.

    Thanks.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • could i not use the protein powder to make just a low fat bar...

  • @mazin2892

I'm sure there are other recipes you could follow to make different types of bars. But the protein powder is needed for this particular recipe.

  • THANK YOU!!...all the other recipes were shit and long.

  • 8 scoops chocolate protein powder is how much in grams?

  • @stajamadafaka

Most scoops contain about 20-25 grams of protein. So 8 scoops would be approx. 160-200 grams of protein.

  • Nice 1 Bruv,How did you let them solidify? did you leave them in the fridge for a while

  • @congoben

Yes, just keep them in the fridge. And you can also add in some extra protein powder if needed to make them drier and less sticky.

  • Merci

  • Protein BERRRS :P

  • could I substitute soy milk for the skim milk?

  • @vigneaun

You could use soy or almond milk, either one will work.

  • these are so good !! i used almond milk in it insted ate one after the gym today i felt like i was in hevan i enjoyed it so much :P thanks !!!

  • your gonna love my nuts LOL

  • Hey man, cool recipe. One question though, how long can they be in the fridge before they go bad? Does the protein lose potential after sitting in the fridge? also, what kind of protein should be used? concentrate? isolate? etc.. Thanks!

  • @BigSurgeeo

Honestly I don't know how long they will last in the fridge because mine don't last that long, I eat them too fast LOL. But they'll be good for a week or more. As for the protein powder, any type will work for the recipe. But I recommend a high quality isolate myself. The one I'm using now is Iso-Smooth from BlueStarMuscle . com it's a 4 blend isolate protein that tastes awesome!

  • AMAZING, THEY TASTE JUST LIKE A SNICKERS BAR!!! YUMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEE lol

  • are there any side effects after having whey protein??

  • @vishwachox

Protein is very safe and healthy, there are no negative side effects.

  • any recomendations for people who hate pea nut butter and nuts in general, wanna try these but cant stand peanut butter.

  • @ChrisRockSteady

You can use other kinds of nut butter (i.e. almond butter, cashew butter, etc.) But you'll need something like that to help everything stick together and give the bars some substance.

  • I made this protein bar today, and i have to admit that this recipe is GARBAGE potential .. It tastes like shit, it looks like shit, it feels like shit (i have never tasted or felt shit before). How can i be sure that it isn't shit??!!! :O

  • i have a peanut allergy can i use almond butter and almonds instead of peanuts and peanutbutter?

  • @oSainty

Of course, you can use any kind of nut butter for this recipe.

  • @oSainty use cashew butter it tastes so good

  • my issue is after i make the protein bars i tend to eat them all within the day as i find they remind me too much of candy, my discipline is poor when it comes to protein bars.

  • thank you for the Recipe!

i was wondering, would it work if you add a weight gainer powder insted of protein? because i need to gain a few kg the next month, would this recipe still work with powder for wight gain?

  • @Goldberg2630

If you have a weight gain powder, you can use it. But in the future DON'T BUY weight gainers. Just stick to pure protein powders. You can easily get enough carbs through your diet, it's the protein that most people are lacking. More often than not a weight gainer will just lead to gaining excess bodyfat.

  • @leemhayward thank you sir, i do get my protein though beside my gainer, and i will mostly only do it for my winter weight gain, but thank you for the answer

  • MAKE SURE 2 THINKS! :

    1. YOUR WIFE NEVER SEE THE KITCHEN AFTER THIS (i am hidding now from her)

    2. PRETTY ENOUGH TOILET PAPER! ( i am still hidding and i cant go to toilet!:( )

  • how long do these last?

  • @williambore

Not very long because they taste so damn good, you'll have them eaten in no time flat LOL. But to answer your question they will be good for about 10 days when kept in the fridge.

  • you're gonna love my nuts LOL

  • So I made these last night and I was confused as to where to store them, because of the little bit of milk in them. Where do you store them after they are made?

  • @Thoby1kenobi

Keep them in the fridge so they are cool.

  • Lee thanks for the ingredients . My volume is not working. What are the baking times and degrees and then I can start making them and is it ok to use vanilla protein powder instead of the chocolate. Thanks again.

  • @tomcamp6023

You don't cook them, just mix the ingredients, roll them up, and eat them like they are. These bars do not need to be cooked.

  • Comment removed

  • @tomcamp6023

Read the video description. All the ingredients and the amounts are listed.

  • Hey Lee, I noticed you use the red label Costco brand of protein powder. I've found that the stuff with the green label stuff is better for this recipe (and you only need about 5-6 scoops). These are delicious--have one every day!

  • I've tried several brands of protein with this...the only one that actually stays solid into a bar is Gold standard casein....every whey seems to crumble apart I even tried using less milk and everything...gold standard casein all the way

  • are you on protein bars only, or also on steroids? thanks.

  • @punking12341

Well I don't live on protein bars only LOL

But I don't use steroids either.

  • About how much is 8 scoops of protein in cups?

  • @jarno23cm

8 scoops of protein is about 3 cups. Pretty much every protein container comes with a scoop, so just count the scoops.

  • I put them in the freezer how long will I leave dem?

  • @Sean201213

I usually keep them in the fridge if I'm going to eat them soon (within a day or two). But if you want to store them for a while (i.e. several days or more) keep them in the freezer.

  • 5:35... "you gonna love my nuts"

  • sub organic almond milk or coconut milk

  • canadian?

  • i dont want to get ripped, I just love the taste of protein bars :3

  • how come you nead 8 cups thats alot

  • @RHCPHeadHunterz

It's 8 scoops of protein, NOT 8 cups... Big difference!

  • @leemhayward ahhahah yehh i meant 8 scoops sorry

  • are you from irish desent my friend?

  • @SimpleJack217

I'm from Newfoundland which is mostly of English and Irish descent.

  • @leemhayward ah awsome

  • When they are made, within how many days you have to eat them? And how should they be stored?

  • @MssV187

If you store them in the fridge they'll should last for a couple weeks or more. But honestly I don't know exactly how long they'll last because I end up eating them all within a matter of days LOL :-)

  • Are you a newfoundlander?!?! you've gotta be!

  • how long do they have to be in the fridge?

  • @jigga909

They should harden up within a couple hours in the fridge. But if you want to "speed it up" put them in the freezer for 20-30 minutes and they'll be good to eat.

  • @CrashElements Im glad that they are better then eny bars you've ever boat, and no, tanx you

  • It looks the same going out as is does going in! LOL.

  • @LoliFarted

They were rolled in crushed peanuts.

  • @leemhayward 27g Protein for 10 bars? 270 g? WOOOW

  • I made these bars, which were damn good. But after doing the numbers with what you told me to use, my nutrition numbers came out different. I got 213cal/11g protein/13g fat/ 13g carb. Every stat is good just needed more protein. Wonder how i got these different from yours.

  • @Jasoak

The numbers will vary depending on the brand of protein powder you use. A pure whey isolate will have the highest gram for gram protein compared to other kinds. But if you are adding everything up right and still only getting 11 grams of protein per bar, try increasing the amount of protein powder next time. After all they are "protein bars" :-)

  • Just made them with Evox 100% whey protein powder, and they came out amazing better then eny of the branded bars i have boat in the shops tanx man

  • 1% milk?

  • @jacksharp678

That means it contains 1% fat.

  • question, how do u mould the mixture into nice twinkie sizes? how long do u have to refrigerate the mixture be4 u can mould it, since the moisture is moisty

  • @gangkapak

Within an hour of so of being refrigerated they should be good to eat. As for the size you make them, that's totally up to you. If you want smaller bars that's fine.

  • hey, dont u have to bake it? please answer this asap, coz i really want to start trying this

  • @gangkapak

No, you don't have to bake them, just make them exactly like is shown in the video.

  • ur gonna love my nuts

  • 5.20-5.23 my fav lee hayward's quote. LOL... thanks Lee.. u really helped on this one

  • 4 For Lee, 6 for Trish because she's beast LOL.

  • Hahahha he said "Your gunna love my nuts" XD

  • @SonOfThatBitch Haha I heard that write when I read your comment!

  • 18 g of carbs, 16 g of fat? no thanks =)

  • @simox81 u serious? people still need fats and carbs

  • I'm allergic to peanuts...What can I use to replace the peanut butter?

  • @user96RR

Can you eat almonds? If so try almond butter.

  • @leemhayward

Thanks, bought some this morning! Really expensive stuff, though. One last question: why don't you put them into the oven for 10 minutes rather than into the fridge, wouldn't they become nice and crispy like a flapjack?

  • @user96RR

I sometimes make high protein muffins with the same recipe mix baked in muffin pans. There are several different ways you can experiment with preparing these.

  • dont get that craft crap hahaha:]

  • how long will these bars last if kept in the fridge mate?

  • @ymcmmayweather

Honestly I have no idea, I eat them all before they go bad LOL. But they should be good for a couple weeks if kept refrigerated.

  • looks like shit :D haha!

  • @suuuuka1 haha i said the same thing but they are really tasty!

  • how much protein do u have in a day im having like 350g protein a day do u reckon that is to much by the way i like videos dude

  • @youngjezy23

Shoot for 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight daily for muscle growth.

  • hey mine where really sticky could that be because i used to much milk or something other than that they where great

  • @250trailmaster

They are sticky, that's why you need to cool them in the fridge to let them harden up.

  • @leemhayward thanks can you eat like 1 or 2 of these instead of drinking a protein shake

  • hey, is your friend themusclecook? hope so, cause he says they are his. and he has the same stuff

  • @iva5981

Yes, I got this recipe from Dave Ruel.

  • these to were great. I've made these more then once. My husband loves them, he eats one when his sugar is low.

  • hey how good do these taste and could you eat like 2 of there after a workout instead of drinking a protein shake

  • u mean 1% fat instead of 1% milk ?

how can milk exist of just 1% milk.. whats the other 99% ?

  • U guys should use mint chocolate protein powder or get some mint chocolate flavor. Its delicious!! :o)

  • what do you do after you mixed the honey, you did not specify... do you put it in the fridge after you mix everything? or do you shape them like protein bars after you mixed everything

  • @samcochraneisfat

Shape the bars then store them in the fridge until you are ready to eat them.

  • can you use cookies and cream protein instead of chocolate?

  • @samcochraneisfat

Sure, you can try another flavor of protein powder instead.

  • I've just made a batch of your Homemade Protein Bars and they came out brilliant , very easy to follow recipe ,Oh and Hello from Scotland

  • as I am lactose intolerent.. can I use water instead of milk.. or would that just screw it up?

  • @Mahhafooznit

It should still work and the bars should turn out fine.

  • how long should i leave the protein bars in the refrigirator

  • @melaniedogs

Just store them in the fridge until you eat them. This will keep them firmer and fresher than if you left them out at room temperature.

  • Thanks for the cool recipe dude.. love the "nut " line.. lol..

  • This wouldn't work very well for me on a cut, but is going to save me a TON of money on a bulk! Thanks for the recipe. Going to work awesome for trying to keep the calories up while working 10 hour days.

  • Hey, i'm 17 years old and i go to the gym 3 times a week and another 2 times a week spinning, iv'e been trying to gain more weight to build more muscle but im stuck at 61.5 kilograms, do you have any advice for me?

  • @ShadyK1ll3r yeah stop the spinning and add another weights session, EAT more :)

  • Thumps up for '' ur gonna love my nuts''

  • Is that ground up oats or whole oats?

  • @YTBAMC1

I like using "Quick Oats" or ground up oats over the whole oats.

  • @leemhayward Is there a particular reason for doing this? Texture preference? I only have whole oats, will they still work?

  • @YTBAMC1

Sure, any kind of rolled oats will work.

  • Ehhhh.....I just made this concotion twice. I followed the instructions to-the-letter each time.....and each time I wound up with a bowl of brown goo. Any time I tried to create a bar, it would not retain its shape. It just spilled outward like a pancake. I notice you omit that part (creating the bars) in your video. Are those measurements correct?

Right now I've got a bowl of this stuff in my fridge. No way I'll dump it into the trash. I'll just scarf down a scoop or two each day.

  • @guitarguy382

Next time go with smaller amounts of the wet ingredients and it should mix up thicker and drier. You can even try adding more protein powder or more dry oats to the batch you have now and see if it thickens up.

  • @guitarguy382 add milk as you go until you get the consistency you want. its definitely because etheres too much milk.. makes it too liquidy.

  • 'You're gonna love my nuts!' lol. Good recipe. Thanks for sharing, Lee.

  • Just made them up and they are wicked! Really thick though, so make sure they are mixed well before you add a little bit more milk.

  • protein buuuurs! nice video man!

  • I added 3 tbs of cocoa powder, 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of vanilla extract and it tasted soooo much better.

  • if you wet your hands when rolling them into shape they do not stick to your hands, re aply water to hand after each one

  • I just tried this recipe... and for some mine came out super chewy O.o

    and tips?

  • I just tried this recipe... and for some mine came out super chewy O.o

  • nice video dude, that would have cost over $50.00 if you bought those, plus you know what the ingredients are and prolly only cost $5.00 to make....if that.

  • I just made 10 of these BAD boys last night, only I went with a Gainer/Protein instead.. and oh LORD are they tasty :O thx for the idea! :D

  • @dagizz1982 If you say they're good I'll make them too, buddy!

  • With this work with reg peanut butter? cuz i wanna make this but i dont have "natural" peanut butter at the moment..

  • @fuze48

Yes, any peanut butter will work. But natural peanut butter is the most healthy version.

  • Why is it that canadian's are obsessed with body building? (I'm honestly curious, i'm from aus)

  • I made them.. I didnt have oatmeal so I used granola and it turned our really well.. One complaint is that you can't roll them.. I have no idea how you got yours in that shape but I had the hardest time to get them into even blobs.

  • can i switch out the powder for something else high of protein??

  • @Ackord02

I've never tried using anything but protein powder, so I can't really comment on that one.

  • sucks if your alergic to peenuts cuz most of these bars have to do with peanuts

  • I went to buy natural peanut butter, and i found 2 types- the one you stir and the other doesnt need it (still natural though). Is there any difference between these? The non-stir had one more gram of sugar than the other, and it included palm oil with the ingredients, whereas the other didnt. Would you recomend one over the other?

  • @ldblumhorst

Real natural peanut needs to be stirred. That's the one you should buy.

  • so is it 8 bars or 10 and how do you form the bars so perfectly

  • @marcus23332333

It's really up to you how big you make the bars. You can make them smaller and have 10 bars or make them smaller and get 8 or more. As shaping the bars it just comes down to taking your time when rolling them out. Another option is to spread the mixture into a glass dish, put them in the freezer til they are solid, and cut them out with a knife.

  • Thanks for the video!

I've tried two different types of Whey Protein, and both kinds have different sized scoopers. So like how many cups worth of protein should I use to equal the 8 scoops?

  • @NathanielBearup

It works out to about 2 cups of protein powder. A standard protein scoop is about 1/4 cup.

  • @leemhayward thanks for your help! I really appreciate it!

  • Really appreciate this recipe! This is WAY cheaper and actually tastier than the stuff you get overpriced for on the market. I use the cookies and cream flavor from ON and these bars are amazing! Best part is these will last me over a week.

  • ok thanks for the info....i just made them and they are in the fridge rightnow! i plan on makin them with the chocolate protein powder next time...but thankyou!

  • i was wonderin if the bars would come out about the same if i used vanilla whey protein??

  • @Armykid530

Physically they would still be the same protein bars, but obviously they would taste totally different.

  • Hey Lee, could I use Soy Protein? Cheers

  • @doomsdayjesus01

I'm sure you could, but generally whey protein tastes a lot better than soy.

  • protein beerrs and ceerbs lol. 5:35 that's what he said.

  • how many calories?

  • @johnbas94

    Each bar contains:

    Calories 322

    Protein 27

    Carbs 18

    Fat 16

  • @leemhayward 322 aint that high wud u hv 1 a day wat if ur tryin 2 ripp up hw many shud u hv i wanna make them

  • I honestly have no idea how flawlessly you made these, like I tried and they just got so damn sticky it wass sooo frustrating, I tried to add more dry ingredients no go.. theyre okay now because i refrigerated them but theyre just a bunch of blobs in cupcake papers

  • @booiiboot : Wasn't very useful to learn how he rolled indeed. That's why he cut off his video I guess. He probably had the same problem and went and bought some instead ;)

  • ur gonna love my nuts

    lololololloolo

  • great recipe.

But what if i wat to take them with me to school. do they melt or get floppy?

  • @Lero2409

Put them in a zip lock bag or wrap them in wax paper when you want to take them with you as a snack.

  • so are they meals replacements?

  • @MustNotWatch

Sure, you can have these as a meal replacement if you like.

  • Do you store them in the fridge or leave it out?

  • @supimu

    Store them in the fridge.

  • @leemhayward Thank you.

  • thank lee your the man Sir!!!!!

  • Hello Lee, do you know how long these are durable in the fridge? Thank you

  • @BeatBay

They should be good for at least a week. Honestly I eat them too dam fast to let them go bad ahahaha :-)
