Haha, no, this is very simple stuff. There are mods out there that that uses a wacom tablet's innards and imposes them onto an lcd. That has pressure sensitivity, but this doesn't. Its capabilities are limited to those of a mouse.
I just added some links that you might find useful. Check out the first one to see what each wire does.
Basically the red is your positive and your black is your ground. the green and white are data travels that you should just clip and forget about unless you know what you're doing.
Some USB cables will come with two grounds, just hook up the negative to the one with the same girth as the positive.
Everything can be found at radioshack and amazon if you can't order online, any store will do (home depot, sears, staples, etc). The only thing that might be tough to get are the ir leds, but you can just buy a universal remote at the dollar store and rip it apart and grab the ir led.
